Great little pub in Riga old town. Decided to drink here as this is where the beer bike tour picks you up which I recommend for larger groups. The pub has chess, arm-wrestling, a pool table, and a punching machine if I remember correctly darts too. Staff were very friendly and easy to get on with. Seating both inside and outside too which is nice.
Lovely pub, taught my boyfriend how to play chess over a couple of drinks and a pot on peanuts! Highly recommend!
On trying to find a small, cosy pub we came across here and I certainly does look intruiging from the outside. Now, small and cosy it might not be BUT this place is actually home to a chess club and is very quirky, we started playing a game of chess and one of the team who by all accounts are at a very high level throughout Europe came over and started chatting with us. Possibly after looking at the state of our board and probably feeling a deep sense of pity for our chess skills this gentleman decided he'd show us a few moves. First up was the quickest possible checkmate with 3 moves and interestingly enough..... B-A-M..... checkmate was pronounced with a smash into the pieces which saw pawns, knights and bishops galore all over the place I never knew that chess could be quite so dramatic. The lessons continued between smokes where he would pass us on his way out. I never did catch his name but he was certainly a character and I would go back to this place in a flash just for another lesson from this guy. As for the pub itself, its certainly a quirky place to whittle away a few drinks, plenty of little alcoves to explore, the bar staff were great and the price from what I remember is reasonable enough also.

A small pub with a cool multi passenger party bike bar parked outside. Earlier today I saw a party of 8 on the bike having beers while it was parked at front of the bar. I’m assuming you can go on a trip around old town while enjoying beverages, each seat area has pedals. The music is loud, and the punters are young. Pints of beer start at 3.5euro
Good prices, great service. Restrooms are questionable.
That was really great find! I had not playd chess for 20 years! Great food, good cheap beer and awsome place!!
The man In the bar made the worst Mojitos ever! No mintleaves, no ice etc. And the cost was 8€ each!
The waitress forgot to ask for my order, so that's a big minus but other than that, the prices are great! I suggest getting the mixed cheese and ham plate. It's great! In the pic half eaten by already
Unfortunately I can't rate Victory very highly because the blonde bar girl refused to serve me after I'd had just a Desperado and a shot. She said I was being annoying. I was excited at arriving in Riga! High spirited. I'd only just dropped my bags in the hotel across the road. Don't let that put you off though, it's ok.
