Very good sized car park, plenty of space. Decent atmospherics inside, very spacious with wifi and lots of TVs on the walls. Clean tidy, friendly and efficient staff, decent beer garden which is enclosed. The pub is dog friendly which is great, nice little snug area, a mixture of wooden seating and comfy chairs. Good menu with some pub favourites on show, we had the Thatched burger with fries and onion rings which was very good quality. Based on this visit I would recommend, £64 for 3 of us to eat including drinks which I think is decent value.
Popped down yesterday to use my £50 voucher and treated ourselves and guests to roasts. Started with Honey & Ginger Pork Belly Bites, a glorious combination of flavour, along with a the biggest and tastiest halloumi fries any of us have tried! 3 Chicken and 1 Beef roast later, safe to say we were suitably stuffed! Really surprised with the amount of beef provided and all food was cooked to perfection.. Thank you
Beautiful long standing pub in Farnborough. Very old with low ceilings that you have to remember to duck. The food menu is unfortunately a bit uninspiring but the two of us chose some starters and a burger to share. The pork belly on a bed of asian slaw was probably our favourite. The paprika halloumi sounded good but tasted like there was way too much paprika. The tempura prawns were ok. The burger a bit meh. It was all just not that good tbh. Will definitely return for drinks as I think they have started doing a quiz again on Tuesday nights. I just can't recommend dining there, sorry.
Im feeling generous because i do want the business to do well, as a local. They have made a good effort to reopen the place. Little snazzy corners and chirpy staff. Sorry, the fish fingers in my sandwich tasted like they had been reheated. The home made batter was dry and chewy.. as was the fish.. just dehydrated and nasty. My kid had the same and wouldn't eat them. 2nd time I've been for food and regretted my life choices. Very personal opinion, but don't like the draft options either. But, it's a pub. Atmosphere is friendly, so maybe go sit in the garden with your dog and drink ale, and you'll be fine.
Good atmosphere But hardly any Vegetarian Options on the menu. When asked we got told they work on a limited menu. A big letdown. Potentially losing 100s of customers a week with no veg options. Others in the area do have better menu options... On to the next one.
The pub is done out lovely, with good atmosphere, 6 of us ordered meals, 3 had the cheeseburger and all said really good. I had scampi and chips, as did 2 others, sadly my meal was barely edible, scampi was overcooked with no taste, chips were only just warm and very dry. £92.00, really not worth it!
Lovely little pub, fun pub quiz once a week. Drinks a little pricey but what isnt these days? Staff very kind and enjoy a laugh.
Good Pub. Well run bar by Sam and Barry. Very popular with the locals. Nice pub and a nice family run pub. Speaking as a former EHO, Chartered Building Surveyor and Architect, this pub is well worth the effort to visit. I was made most welcome and I am grateful for Sam's kindness which I did appreciate. Had a wo derful time at the Class of 76 re union. It was great to meet up with old friends. The buffet was good, only personal dislike was the mustard on the ham sandwiches but you can't cater for everybody and you made up with it with the cake and scones
Easy parking. Usually tables available. Old, thatched building. Areas outside to eat when it's warmer. Dogs welcome. Quite friendly staff. The food can be a little hit and miss but is good value. A fairly good choice, sometimes very nice, sometimes a bit disappointing. Clean toilets. Sports often on large TV if that's your thing but you can escape it, as it's unobtrusive.
