A more unique option among the museums with easier admission and many many fabulous collections. Traffic was heavy due to the Taylor Swift exhibit but those guests were managed separately from browsing visitors. This made our visit even better. So many different sections most groups should find a favorite.
You could spend days walking around this museum. I came for the Tropical Modernism in Architecture exhibition and it was amazing. I am already looking to come back to explore the other rooms and exhibitions. The collections are all signposted and easy enough to find and the facilities are excellent with clean toilets, brilliant cafe, open spaces to enjoy the sunshine while you eat and helpful and friendly staff. The gift shop is very enticing too! Really worth the journey and I can't wait to come back.
An extraordinary place and part of a large set of buildings in the area including the natural history museum. There is so much to see. If you can’t spend a few solid days, pick something and spend some quality time. I chose the jewelry, plaster cast courtyard and miniature sculpture and also visited the Turners and Constables. There was a Taylor Swift discovery trail which had attracted a LOT of excited kids. Great way to encourage museum visits. There were also exhibitions of Elton John photography and Naomi Watts career for an extra price. Well worth a day or two. The collections are monumental.
Beautiful building in itself. Every corner has a gem. Come early in the morning to avoid crowds. I went at around opening time and there was barely anyone. However towards 11am and noon there began to be more people. Plenty stuff to see in general but it will feel like you’re getting lost in a maze. Some exhibitions on the upper floors ceramics, vases, etc feel like they’re just transparent storage cabinets displaying the thousands of items without a curated museum experience for those wanting to learn more. The Taylor swift exhibition is scattered throughout the museum and while that does mitigate crowds a bit, when you get to a Taylor swift exhibit you can see mass migrations and people standing still to take photo of one dress. If you come early in the morning you can avoid this problem. The exhibit is less about Taylor swift herself than about her famous outfits used on runways and tours and the artistic side of her music making. No open lid beverages allowed.
Beautiful museum full of lovely pieces of art and design. I have visited particularly for Taylor Swift Songbook Trail and it's incorporated into the galleries in a great way, letting you see both TS' dresses, costumes and accessories and also other collections in the museum, which are very interesting! The building is beautiful too and if you come early morning, it's quite possible to avoid big queues. Definitively recommend this one!
An absolutely fabulous museum, it's so large you could not do it all in one day. I would just go in and wander around to see what you find. Every time you seem to find something new . The exhibitions there are amazing, would definitely recommend going to see one photos attached of the Elton John photo collection currently on until January 2025.
I went for the song book trail but it brings you through so much of the museum I also saw some very nice jewels , silver and pottery the architecture in the museum itself is fabulous and I would highly recommend visiting. The line outside was very long but moved quite quickly. The gift shop is also very nice and sold eras tour merchandise. It felt surreal to be so close to Taylor swifts outfits.
Very nice museum with a wide variety if items. Got to see outfits from Taylor Swift, a very old dribble glass, historical furniture, and a pulse oximeter. Mildly hard to find specific items. Central courtyard had a fountain with lots of kids playing in it while we were there.Visited onWeekdayWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNo
Once again, the V&A did not disappoint. Beautiful building, amazing exhibitions of clothes, artifacts, cultures, nicely curated and easy to navigate. Then there's the gift shop which is a shopping paradise with many helpful staff. It was very hot outside, and hot inside the day I visited the museum. Easy access from the Tube & tunnel. I highly recommend, and I never miss the chance to go to the V&A.
Came down from Glasgow to visit the Taylor Swift song book trail, which was excellent, but wow this museum is spectacular! You could easily spend the best part of a day here, it's HUGE and has something for everyone. Even the cafe/garden on a nice day has a shallow pool for the kids. Honestly, just go!
