A surprisingly rich architectural/sculptural experience. Brutalist at first sight but in fact on a very human scale and clearly intended to intrigue and invite. Recommended!

Visited the Appollo Pavilion today , as a10 year old boy , back in 1970 , living in the next street , I spent many hours playing there , it was so good to go back to see it , I'm so pleased & delighted to hear its grade I I listed . It may not be the most beautiful piece of archecture or art , but a great piece of English heritage that shouldn't be lost 😃 Great memories too !

Stunning brutalist sculpture which sits in the centre of a housing estate in Peterlee. Sadly the upper level was locked when we visited, which was a shame.
