Simply the best fish and chips you'll ever eat! Prawns, lobster, seasonal fish, crab.... yes it's a bit pricier than some places but good food, caught and cooked by local, friendly people is worth every penny.

We ordered 5 cod and chips costing around £37. We were second in line and it took around 20+ minutes. We were initially impressed with the huge portions until we tucked in. 75% batter and very little cod. The chips were also very hard. We were extremely disappointed after reading all the positive reviews. Perhaps the young lads on the fryer were a little distracted that day.

Gutted, Cod n Chip 's taste was ok, but for £7.95 the portion is an insult

£8 for Tasteless cod, repulsive vinegar, awful 'homemade mayo' @ 50p a shot and a few tasteless chunky chips. Also bought fresh sea bass and price was listed as £17.50/kg. When it was weighed they charged £35/kg. I'm pretty sure that's breaking the law. In any case avoid the take away fish and chips at all cost.

Unfortunately probably one of the worst 'customer service' experiences it has been my misfortune to endure. I struggle to see how the lady 'serving' behind the counter could have been more rude or more unhelpful. Firstly I was reprimanded for asking if they had any 'uncooked crevettes'. Secondly I was scolded for commenting that the prawns look like those caught off Bembridge before I commited the ultimate sin of buying the two tubs of prawns on display. I mean how could I?? This was most inconvenient for her and resulted in much huffing! I know that working in a customer service environment can be tiring and that customers are not always easy but if you find it that difficult then probably best to find a different job for your own sake and the continued prosperity of your business. I'll be sticking to Cowes and Bembridge for our seafood in future and would recommend others to do the same.
