Story

In 1994, the family-owned retail company Leekes took ownership of the local golf club at Hensol that they proceeded to develop into the world-class Vale Resort set in over 650 acres of beautiful Welsh countryside. In 2003, the company announced the purchase of the Hensol Castle estate that adjoins the Vale resort.The Estate includes a 17th century stately home, an historically important mid-18th century landscaped park, a 15-acre lake and serpentine pond. The castle is currently being developed as an exclusive use Wedding Venue and is taking bookings now for Summer 2014 onwards.

Excellent facilities & location. Set in lovely surroundings & staff are superb. Parking is not an issue, & food is excellent. If you are there for business or a conference, you could find a better place. But due to the level of meetings & conferences that seem to take place there. Staying as a resident might not be as relaxing as you would hope for.

We had a wonderful time here even though the weather was very cold. The hotel itself was very good and the staff were very friendly. The breakfast and dinners were very good and we managed to play golf twice on the Lakes and the Welsh National courses which were well maintained even though it is winter. We would love to come here again when it's a bit warmer!

I had a business meeting in that hotel with a supplier who came from Germany. We have been to the restaurant for a dinner but suddenly the staff stopped us and told us that since we have no reservation we have to wait for around 30 min. With all the honesty, I believe that the member of staff was jocking because the restaurant was almost empty. Anyhow, we were tired to go in Cardiff and we decided to wait for 30 min. We bought two beers from the bar which is next to the restaurant. No more than 3 minutes later, a member of staff told us that we can have a seat to the restaurant! I don't want to believe that this well reputed hotel stopped us from the dinning room in order to buy a few drinks first... Really this is something that I don't want to believe. At any case, this is what happened on Monday 11.12.2017 at approx. 19.20hrs...

Attended wedding reception at this resort. Very impressive and well designed resort. Quite a way off the beaten track but well worth the effort getting there. Resort has a very large car park in the grounds and well maintained gardens. Considering the number off people who attended the red reception and all the other activities simultaneously going on the resort did not look to be struggling and every help was made available when needed. All in all a very enjoyable evening in a great atmosphere. I would definitely consider returning for a weekend break in the future.

We had a fab day, 3 treatments which were lovely, also a buffet lunch very nice. The staff were great, very professional, considerate & helpful. A lovely day, would highly recommend it came home very chilled. 😎
