Delicious crab cakes, yummy soup and great pasta. The place is in the city centre and advance booking is highly recommended as you may not get a seat if you walk in directly. The telephone lines were not answered when we called and had to try again on the next day. This is bit of disappointment as service is key to success.
This place was great! Visiting from out of town, and I cannot recommend this place enough Cozy atmosphere, with the most delicious food. So happy to have made this my spot to eat when visiting Inverness!
If your looking for great food in Inverness look no further than Urquhart's, we were up in the highlands for my girlfriends birthday and wanted to celebrate somewhere in style. I highly recommend booking in advance as they fill up really fast and you don't want to turn up and be disappointed. Urquhart's doesn't look like much from the outside but as soon as you enter it is clean, tidy and homely, the restaurant is small but the food they serve is fantastic! We started off with the haggis bonbons and then the chicken goujons/steak pie, both served in a really large portion. It wouldn't of been a birthday meal without desert so opted for the creme brûlée. It seems the starters/deserts are quite pricey but the main courses are averagely priced which is strange but doesn't change how good the food was, definitely one of the best restaurants I have been to. The staff are really friendly and down to earth. Can't wait to try Urquhart's again when I'm back in Inverness.
Came here for some traditional Scottish food. Definitely need to make a reservation as it only has 9 tables and can be full for the night by the time 6 p.m. rolls around. The vegetarian haggis, neeps and tatties was tasted great, though turnips and taters is a lot of roots for one meal but I asked for traditional and got it. The sweet potato and carrot soup was awesome, just wish the bread with it came warm. The restaurant is one flight upstairs, not sure if there's an accessible entrance elsewhere.
Absolutely delicious and a good selection of food. Had the chicken goujons and my husband had the pasta...not a scrap left even though they were good sized portions Staff were so lovely and helpful...well done will definitely be back
Lovely food and friendly professional service. Lovely environment very homely and cosy, all in all enjoyed night out with friends. Thank you Rachel for all your assistance you were so helpful and really made our night enjoyable
Phoned last minute and managed to get booked in okay, waitresses were both friendly and attentive. We had 3 courses which all arrived really quickly, hot and tasted great, safe to say we were both stuffed after it, will definitely return.
An interesting menu with all the dishes being very well prepared and presented. The overall experience was spoilt by an over efficious restaurant manager who was clearly rushing us through desert and coffee to use the table again. If they had been up front and said there was a time limit I would not have booked.
We went as a party of 4 adults and 3 children. There was a good child's menu selection. The adults had 3 courses and the food was great. It was a nice atmosphere with friendly staff and would recommend it to anyone. We all enjoyed our meals. We were last leaving the restaurant for closing time and they did not rush us or tell us we had to finish up either which was nice although we wanted to leave timely to let the staff close up. Great service and very welcoming!
Awesome food. The day we went, their Soup of the day was Mushroom Soup and it was really amazing one of the best I had. Their Fish Pie and Scampi dish were fresh and tasted really good. Make sure you book before you go usually if it's busy they prefer booking rather than walk in!!
