My partner and I shared the "All the meats" Sunday roast and it was really good! The portion was big enough for two people and we got to try all the different types of meat. We think other people should try it too! The food was tasty and the service was great. We would come back again for sure!
Very generous portions, without being silly. Very well cooked meals with carefully chosen high quality ingredients. Thank goodness for puns like the Unthank Arms.
The Unthank Arms is located at 149 Newmarket St, Norwich. The outlook of this restaurant is quite attractive. The seating area is comfortable and feeling warm with real fireplace on Ground Floor. Variety of food is limited, mainly burger is offered. Pumpkin soup is too salty, lacking smell of pumpkin. In fact, it is a bar, most of the customers drink beer.
The roast dinner was fantastic! The only thing that let it down was the chicken, it was tasteless, no seasoning or herbs on it which was disappointing! But apart from that it was fantastic, the people who had the beef said it was fantastic! Good portion sizes too! Went again and had the pork and it was delightful!! Really good roast!
I had the fish in green curry and it was fine, but not great. Other food was ok too - apparently the chicken burger was a bit dry but the loaded fries with steak were good. Staff were super helpful however.
Lovely place. Best Roast around. Great staff accommodated our large group and children very well. Our first time visiting but will definitely be back! I look forward to trying the burger!
We booked a family meal for 12 on Sunday at which the service was appalling, we had to ask to order our first round of drinks and at no point was the water on the tables replenished or additional drinks offered. I spoke to one of the staff who I assumed was a manager and made him aware of how disappointed we were, he said he would raise it with the supervisor, who turned out to be the member of staff who seemed more interested in having a social at the bar with the other staff than looking after her diners. Unfortunately the food didn't make up for it either. All in all a disappointing meal, we wont be returning.
Great place for food and drink. Some really nice off-the wall dishes that are all prepared very well and arrive in good time and hot. Only 4 stars due to noise. Just too noisy and so much echo, could do with some wall art to bring that down but overall a lovely gastro pub.
Very nice pub and helpful staff. Food is lovely. Upstairs room for private parties is a great space, and they were happy to let us decorate it for the 21st party.
Discovered the Unthank Arms whilst going for a stroll from our hotel in Norwich. A wonderful place ,very welcoming atmosphere with great bar staff, good beer and terrific food. Wish we lived nearer !
