Please note that there is only my wife and I in the house and there are no pets or children. Three months after installing Quick Step Livyn Vinyl Flooring scratches started to appear.. The scratches are now so unsightly the Quick Step Livyn Vinyl Floor looks like it has been down for years and as if a family with children and pets have been walking over it without wiping their feet. We had followed the advice of UniLin Quick Step in ensuring the floor was regularly cleaned and as stated in their warranty to use a non-rubber backed mat at all entrance doors Section 4 of their warranty.This was duly done but after only three months there were terrible scratches all around the floor plus it has ‘bubbled up’ in several places. In particular around the refrigerator, clothes dryer and strangely under two legs of the kitchen table. The flooring was installed by a competent fitter and in line with the installation instructions. Contacting UniLin Quick Step resulted in a rejection of our claim the product was unfit for purpose and failed in the claim of their sales literature that “the protective top layer ensures your floor will always look as perfect as it was when first installed” They stated in an email communication, asking specifically about the scratch protection, that the flooring “has an increased scratch resistant but is not scratch proof”.and that the warranty excludes scratches made by sand and grit Section 5 of their warranty All in all the Quick Step UniLin Livyn Vinyl Flooring in my opinion isn’t suitable for high traffic areas where there is the slightest chance of sand or grit being walked in. Areas near to an external entrance/exit, such as a house front door leading into a porch or hallway, or house rear door leading into a utility or kitchen are areas where installation of Quick Step UniLin Livyn Vinyl Flooring is to be avoided at all cost
