Have been going since I was a young kid, was one of my favourite places but I can see this is slowly falling apart due to the construction outside and not much have changed inside within a decade of going. The prices are reasonable, excellent staff service and the food is standard, would suggest better options for fussy eaters though. One of the very few good social places left in Truro for people to hang out at, need more.
Went with my family today and it was warmer outside than it was inside it was that cold I asked if we could cancel our second game they said yes but no refund. The place it self needs a good refit. We will not be going back
A fairly small bowling alley situated in the centre of Truro and very well placed for car parking . The staff were very friendly and helpful. Ideal venue for parties. Decent range of food and drink available.
Wasn't going to leave a bad review however response from the manager inside had little remorse and bad customer service and very low quality food. Not sure if it was just a night of unfortunate events However spending £26 for two games for two people plus around £30 on food and drinks I would expect far better service overall. So where do I start. Staff are undertrained and unprofessional nice and friendly though but that's not the point first was served by a young woman who was adiment I couldn't have a salad because it could not go through the till, even though you could get a salad with onion rings? Why couldn't they pop it through as something else and just ask the chef? Bad customer service, undertrained staff. Then ordered garlic mushrooms, wrap and some coleslaw and some curly fries, was then approached saying no coleslaw available.. then few mins later on separate occasion was told there was no curly fries or wraps! Partner went to the till to swap for something else and paid the difference. We waited, then the second amended order of food came first, ate this and about 10 mins later the first order came after asking them where it was! They said sorry doing it now... this is when we was into our second game and we ordered this when we first came in! It wasn't busy either and it's just fried food. After eating with our hands like many others there as got given one knife and fork and one tissue between two people I go to wash my hands, no soap available and cold water tap. I asked politely at the desk if the was santitiser as none available in any of the lanes and no soap in toilet. They tried to look for some but didn't have any then made me go back to the toilet while they filled up soap. Why is there no sanitiser people eat and put fingers in the balls? COVID? Once I was ready to leave, I went to go to the toilet sat down and there was no toilet roll. At this point I felt I would say something, when I did, the staff working there were messing around covering eachother in sellotape instead of checking facilities. The should be doing duties to ensure customers are hapy such as ensuring they knew what was available on the menu prior to serving people! Overall not a great experience and when I asked to speak to the manager he just had answers to all of my complaints such as sorry the tap is meant to have hot too and they did fill the toilet roll earlier. Nothing to settle with, no compassion or compensation for the series of events. Very disappointed, expect much more when paying £60+ they need to sort it out. Not happy. If you don't care about any of this than maybe it's the place for you but don't expect it to be good service, facilities or food.
One of the best, if not the best, bowling alley in Cornwall. The lanes are well kept and oiled and the balls are in good condition. Drinks are well priced, staff are friendly and approachable. Went here last weekend with my partner for the first time, had 2 games for a decent price. Our only issue was the small amount of seating at the lanes, with 2 large groups next to us there was no seating for us but wasn't too much of an issue. Overall Truro Bowl is a lovely spot to knock down some pins and spend time with friends and family. They also have, air hockey, pool, bar machines and a classic Outrun 2 game which is pretty cool! Responding to other reviews, The facilities are a little bit rough but they are clean and usable. The decor is dated but I find this gives the place some charm! Will be going here more!
3 stars only because of the tatty state of the interior..the people fantastic and they would have a solid 5. Thank you.
Far too expensive for what they provide.Charging as much as far superior league bowling alleys. It was very uncomfortable place to be, so much so we asked for refund of our last game. There wasn't an area for people using lane to sit. Seats that were provided were badly ripped. Balls actually rolled back down lane, or got stuck on many occasions. Staff having to rectify issues, and had to stand on lanes to do so.Having taken up bowling as a hobby a few months ago, we have been to several bowling alleys in different parts of the country. Including seaside resorts and have always enjoyed our time at them. This is the worst. The only good thing to say is the staff were lovely.
Needs someone to pump money into it.... and change the decor, so out dated. Could be a great place if had money thrown at it, especially as its one of the last remaining proper bowling alleys...
Always have a great time here. Fun for all the family
Not exactly bowled over by the jobs worth staff member on shift lol vastly overpriced amd to book a meal for a large group to then be told the kitchen wasn't open wasn't fantastic either .... all in all a total balls up on Truro bowls part
