Ozzel Bowl was amazing fun for me and the family.nThe bowling was amazing.nnThe only problem I had was the manager at the front desk, He was rude from the start. He made a typo in my cousin’s name and he didn’t like that. We went back over to him and he said ‘oh get on with it.’ Later on when the pool table refused to give us the balls after inserting a pound, He said ‘oh forget it.’ and gave us a 50p ‘for the trouble.’nnDo not use the arcade games. The claws are rigged.
Absolutely love this place. The staff are great and friendly. I take my 14 year old to play bowling and my 6 year old plays in the arcades, soft play and taking one if our goes if she's fancies itnThe food... Absolutely love the food here! I'm fussy and this is great for me and the kids.nThe prices are more than better for the quality of food you get. They always try new new stuff. Onwards and upwards for this business. #LoveThisPlace!
Wanted to have a few games of pool and maybe some bowling, as soon as we walked in we were greeted by staff or manager not sure which but he was extremely blunt and rude saying that we couldn’t play pool as it’s bowling only, nowhere did it say this rule online or at the entrance. So we paid for bowling, which was 15 quid for one game for 2 people bit pricey in my opinion but that is what it is. What wasn’t pleasant was how rude the staff were, straight away I felt unwelcome, and as soon as we started I wanted to leave. While bowling I saw multiple people come in and not bowl only play pool, so not sure what these rules are for some not for everyone BS. The vibe of this place is off from the beginning, if I had kids I absolutely would never bring them here.
I remember when Ozzell Bowl opened. Loved it then and love it still. Just what St Austell needs...... BUT, and it's a big but, what on earth has happened to the customer service over the years!!?!?nnThey are rude, unfriendly and unhelpful. We've booked before then called to change it to get there half an hour later and they'll say they can't accommodate it. So, we'll change our plans or rush our meal and get there on time, only to find it's half empty. There was plenty of time for us to have our games earlier in time for closing, but their main focus is shutting those doors and getting home as quickly as they can. You'll be there, having a good night and they'll literally start hoovering around you!!!!nnTonight my son and I were going to the cinema, we were a bit early so we thought 'we'll have a game of pool first, and a few drinks', went into Ozzell Bowl, nice greeting and when my son said we'd come to play pool, we were told quite bluntly that it was 'for the people who are bowling only, all of the facilities are', so we turned and left.nnWhat kind of business model is this!? Making people feel unwelcome, rushing them out the door, hoovering around people, and tonight, there was hardly anyone there!!! Both pool tables EMPTY. If you can afford to turn away business, few games of pool, few drinks, you must be raking it in with next to no people. Who turns away business!!!! If the pool tables were busy or it was heaving I would get it, but it was not busy and both pool tables empty. No idea what's going on with this place. Do the guys managing it own it? Does the owner know they couldn't give a monkeys and make people feel like they're unwelcome and when you are there can't rush you out the door quick enough!!?!? Really!!???nnSuch a shame. It's an amazing venue. It should be buzzing. Maybe it's the attitude that's putting people off. I do not get your business model at all!!!!??
Weren't even allowed to enter the building. Me and my wife asked if we there were any lanes available and there was a 2hr wait which wasn't a problem at all.nnWe then proceeded to attempt to use the amusement facilities and were told to leave? The hostile member of staff then swiftly asked us to leave if we weren't bowling despite just telling us there was a wait on the lanes.nnA truly confusing business model as we were planning on staying for a drink, to use the amusements and pool tables before bowling.nnI hate to leave bad reviews as I understand how detrimental they can be to someone's business however I wouldn't recommend anyone come here as we expected to have some fun and were left perplexed by the business policy and the outright rudeness of the staff.
