Excellent stay at the Trout Hotel. Room was large, comfortable, clean and in great condition. The staff were friendly and helpful. The food and drink was reasonably priced. Breakfast was excellent with hot food cooked to order and a good cold buffet. Ample free parking. I would happily recommend staying at the hotel.

The room (superior executive) was superb - clean modern and spacious, with a nice shower. The balcony/ patio area was a nice touch, though being winter we didn't use it. The bar is was priced reasonably, and the service from the staff was outstanding. Free on site park has enough spaces. I definitely recommend staying here.

Service great and food presented beautifully. Bit expensive for what it was but beautiful meal. Nice place for a special occasion or first date if you want to impress. High standard refurbishment, very clean, food tasted lovely nice choice on menu so it gets 5 stars.

The Trout Hotel is the best I've ever been in. You are made to feel at home from the moment you get there. Our room looked over the river. The bathroom was great, underfloor heating and a heated mirror (very impressive) so no steamed up mirror. There were multiple eateries to choose from and a well stocked bar. Food in the main restaurant was first class, 10/10 for service everywhere. If you intend visiting Lakeland Distillery whilst staying at The Trout you can get the guided tour at half prices. So much to see and do in Cockermouth.

Great meal, lovely friendly service, nice atmosphere. Only wish they offered smaller portions of main meals for older people and then we could have a sweet as well.
