Had our wedding here recently in the terrace and can honestly say nothing was ever too much for the staff. Scott was amazing from start to finish knew exactly what I wanted when it came to decorating the room for us as we couldn’t do it on the day due to the wedding and there was a breakfast of 60 people in that morning the room was even lovelier than I ever could of imagined. The food was gorgeous even the fussy eaters loved it. The staff were polite and very helpful. The room we stayed in was brilliant had a view of the river right out of our window it was very clean and had everything you needed there. Thank you again trout hotel for the most perfect day
Fantastic meal for a large group. Lovely food. Well organised, excellent service. Not cheap, but worth it. Can't comment on the rooms, as we didn't stay. I have put the rooms as 5 stars, as I didn't want to put them as zero.
Waited an hour for food, it was very quiet and not busy. Only one person serving tables. Two of the four items were left off my plate, and had to be requested. We weren't offered any sauces so I needed to go to the bar to get some. My coffee was cold. The portions are small and the food is plain, bad value for money. Gave this place two chances in case a previous bad experience was a one off, but I won't be back. Service is so so so slow. Huge wait for ordering, huge wait for drinks etc.
The location is excellent and you're a stones throw away from the main street and all the shops.nnThe bedrooms vary in quality, and my first night here in room 214 was poor and sleepless. Avoid room 214 if you can as I awake most of the night by the noisy extractor fan, and if you're more than 6 feet, you'll struggle to fit into this bed.nnThe breakfast was nothing to be desired for a 4* star hotel. However, the evening meal contrasts this with very good food.nnThis hotel is OK, but I expect a lot more for the price and the stars status it claims to have. It's ok to charge high prices, but customers' expectations are higher as a result.
Nice rooms but atrocious service. Over an hour for food and we were ignored by staff due to a wedding. Staff ignored allergy requirements on our food so it was mostly inedible. For the price of everything it was shocking and they should be embarrassed!
