Cheap and cheerful. Rooms are generally clean. Staff are responsive. Could do with a refresh and have power sockets by the bed. Quiet. Functional more than romantic.
If I could give this negative ‘stars’ then I would. We booked this hotel to stay the night after a friend’s Birthday, we got back at midnight and just wanted to fall asleep, as soon as we got into the bed it was soaking wet. We told reception, no apology. We had to ask to change rooms this should have been offered as a bare minimum. We asked for compensation, and was met by a sarcastic delivery of “compensation, for giving you a new room when you asked?” Is it normal for a paying customer to 1 get Into a soaking wet bed 2 have to pack up their room at 1am so they can change rooms. I was disgusted by the fact anyone would put a soaking wet sheet on a bed to begin with and also the lack of accountability and apology. Mistakes happen and i would have felt differently if anybody was apologetic, however a dry bed and customer service are two things you won’t find here. I will not be returning and I don’t think anybody else should either.
Incredibly expensive Travelodge in the middle of Macclesfield, because there's no competition.nGreat location, a couple of minutes walk from the station.nDreadful breakfast delivered in a box by who knows who.nCar park very local, but a municipal park, so there's an early morning rat run of people in dressing gowns and slippers to get a new parking ticket. Which is at least a funny opportunity to meet your neighbours.nIrritating offers the day before your intended date at less than half the price you were originally quoted, but now they're trying to fill empty rooms, but you've made other arrangements.
Friendly, polite and professional staff. Clean layout, clean rooms, - standard basic room for travelodge.. but it’s got old door locks, large empty rooms and there cold with awful electronic heaters and tiny bathrooms… The WiFi is awful too. I didn’t enjoy my stay at all.. compared to places like docklands central in London Isn’t not a good travelodge.nnBut that’s reflected in the price.. 40 pounds a night.
BASIC. One night stay Saturday whilst attending a works Christmas do in the area. Our first time staying in a TravelLodge, 2 stars given - the seal around the windows in our room had come away, the window wouldn’t close properly so you could hear the traffic/trains going past. No free parking for guests? You have to pay for parking Mon - Sat parking is free on Sundays. Room layout is very basic, it’s okay for a place to rest your head for the night.nOur room was on the 4th floor, we felt very safe as you needed to use your key card to access each floor.
