Family weekend, booked well in advance. Next door to Black country museum and the Dudley canal experience. Good all you can eat breakfast especially with children eating free. Room clean, comfortable and quiet. Bathroom was spotless and plenty of towels. Bar was good value from 5-7pm with selected drinks £2.75 which included Stella. The staff were friendly and attentive. Easy Uber access to get around Would definitely stay again if in the area.
Great value for money. Lovely and clean, staff brilliant and so helpful. In a great location, very quiet. only stayed one night - bathroom small but manageable. Breakfast fab and attentive staff. Will deffo visit again.Rooms: 5/5
The service and the people there was AMAZING I loved everyone who worked there they were so kind. The rooms weren't that good there were many bulges in our carpet. I think they are in the middle of doing the place up. I couldn't get a good night sleep because of the beds were extremely hard. The location is 1 building away from the black country museum and very close to the Dudley zoo.
It was one of the best Travelodges I had stayed along with the one in St. Albans when I stayed at the room on the ground floor. But the rooms and corridors upper floors were a bit rundown. Still the museums and the zoo & castle were super near. Don't miss the museum in the Archives Library right next to the hotel. I more enjoyed this museum than Black Country.
Comfortable, clean, friendly and great value for money. Good quality. Basic but has everything you need. The breakfast was great value for money too with lots of variety and good quality food Nearby activities: Right next door to the Black Country Museum which is why we stayed here.
Can hear everything through the walls/windows, toilet a bit smelly, beds are quite short and really uncofmy. No network at ground floor so you have to buy WiFi and forget about phone calls. Clean, decent size room, usb sockets available, decent water pressure under shower. Rooms: Can hear everything through the walls/windows, toilet a bit smelly, beds are quite short and really uncofmy. No network at ground floor so you have to buy WiFi and forget about phone calls. Clean, decent size room, usb sockets available, decent water pressure under shower. Food & drinks: Decent food, for good price cheaper than most of the hotels. 20 pounds for big burger with chips and 2 pints.
I was saddened to be a witness to the manager shouting at a resident what I can only describe as the most disgusting display of discriminatory behaviour I have ever witnessed in a hotel. I thought hotel guests were paying customers and should be treated with respect, not according to the manager it seems. After having reduced the young woman to tears, I felt obliged to ask if she was okay and I found out that she had been housed temporarily at this travelodge after suffering an arson attack at her home where her children's lives had been put at risk. The police had advised her it was not safe to return to their home and they had been forced to book into a travelodge in another city while they looked for another home. The manager, Erica, was shouting at her that she should buy her children meals out of her 'benefits' - I am not sure what this was about but this is not behaviour I would expect from anyone in the hospitality industry and I will not be using travelodge again. Quite apart from this, no one has the right to make judgements on others in this way and this individual needs a lesson in compassion and humility at the very least. Apart from this awful incident, the hotel was poorly run and the room dirty - I realise this is budget hotel but that doesn't mean it needs to be unpleasant and dirty. The other staff were very welcoming and helpful but obviously run off their feet and I overheard many complaints about the manager while they were talking to each other. Never again.
The room was ok, what you expect from a travelodge. We had a double bed and two singles for our family of 4. The downsides were, wait at the checkout desk was always quite long because of the staff having to multi task between the desk and bar. No remote for the tv in the room and the heater kept switching itself off even though it was correctly set
Booked Dudley travelodge as they are a local budget hotel but not happiest in the slightest. Was given room 007 that stank of damp, the shelf in the bathroom was broken and the window didn't even open? When we complained, we were told we were given that room because we brought early check in. So the standards of the room were poor because we paid extra! My partner explained we needed a window and the receptionist with an attitude responded "the other windows only open a small amount anyway" We were moved to room 206. No service and buying wifi was a headache as i couldn't even type in my details. Went to the bathroom and it reeked of cigarettes which it didn't before. Someone must have flushed a cigarette or the smell was in the ventilation because that was the last straw. Checked in at about 1pm, checked out at 7pm - couldn't bare to be there for the full 24 hours. We have attended travelodge in West Brom and i would much more recommend it. Never had any issues there, always friendly staff and for an extra 10 minute drive its worth it.
Great location for visiting the Black Country museum. Food outlets withing walking distance, bar menu in the hotel. Staff helpful and friendly. Air conditioning in ground floor rooms. Plenty of parking.Rooms: 5/5
