Arrived in the evening and no one was at the desk so had to use the self check in machine. Definitely slower than an actual person plus also doesn't inform you of breakfast times so in the morning we had to guess. Lift was broken, which again wasn't an issue for us but where it might have been useful to have a person available to check that was ok.nRoom seemed ok but we found out that night that the air con didn't seem to stay on so we were all hot. Seeing other reviews I now realise we should have said something as this must clearly be an issue in some rooms and we had the same issue the next night.nThe first morning the breakfast was not so good. We timed it where the hot food had been out a while so it was cold. The second morning was much better and we could see it was getting low so waited for fresh food to be put out.nThe good thing about staying here is the location as it is in walking distance to the zoo and Black Country museum. There are also lots of food places to eat out in the evening.
Like most Premier Inns, it will have the same routine.nHowever, i loved our room! It was so spacious, it was clean, and very comfortable. Beds were superb. The AC was working. Toilet & bath were clean and functional.nnEven though we only stayed in our rooms for a short while came for a conference it totally made us well rested.nnStayed in a family room, with the view of Dudley Castle.nnBreakfast was good! And the staff were really kind and accomodating.nnLocation is brilliant! Close to Dudley Castle, Tesco.. and very close to KFC, Burger King, Costa, and a pub.nnWill surely book here again, when we get the chance to come back.
Usual fantastic, smooth and hassle-free experience with Premier Inn. This time we booked a Premier Plus room and it was worth the extra cost for sure. Room had all the extras as advertised and air conditioning - an absolute must in the current heatwave! Very well located for both the Black Country Living Museum - highly recommended by the way - as well as the zoo and castle and Dudley town centre. You cannot hear traffic from the various dual carriageways around the hotel so that was a bonus and the parking was plentiful and free. Restaurant was clean, staff were friendly so overall, thoroughly recommended for exploring the area. One quick note for any runners out there; I ran the 3 mile circuit around Dudley Castle and the elevation changes are fairly tough as the hotel is situated around half way up the overall area and it feels like you're always running uphill! Hard but worth it.
Room is great with everything you could need as well as great amenities, convenient location. Service was a little here and there but they had an enough character to make up for it, overall pretty good experience
Stayed here as it's only a five minute walk to Dudley Zoo Don't follow Google maps to the zoo! Just cross at the big roundabout.nnJust a few llittle niggles about the room - The toilet flush wasn't accessible when the toilet seat was up which is just a bit annoying, the shower gel bottle was empty I'm sure they would have replaced it and for a longer stay we would have asked them about it and the bathroom had one of those pinky purple night lights which I found a little disorientating. Nothing major at all.nnThe room itself was great, stayed in a plus room so had a small fridge, decent wi-fi, temperature control and late checkout. Worth the extra if you can push to it.nnAs usual the TV was locked down so no casting or streaming to it, but had more channels than usual in a Premier Inn.nnComfy bed and pillows as you'd expect and blackout curtains that worked so well when you opened them a crack the sunlight blinded you!nnThe bar/restaurant wasn't very busy but we didn't use it ourselves. There's plenty of options nearby for eating out.nnCheck in was a bit confusing, did it on the app beforehand but still had to get help to pick up room keys as the kiosk wasn't very clear on how to do it.nnWould definitely stay there again if I'm back in Dudley.
