Busy Beefeater. Sunday roast had all the trimmings and was very good. The ribs and flame grilled chicken was very succulant and full of flavour. Puddings were ok and only slightly warm. Service was very friendly and drinks and food came quickly. We look forward to our next visit and trying out other dishes. Vegetarian options: There were vegan plant based option, which was good to see. Wheelchair accessibility: Ramp outside
I travel around the country a lot and I have been meaning to have a meal at the restaurant. Today I did and I’m so glad I chose this place. The staff are very friendly and polite, also being very efficient. The food is simple fantastic and a great price too. The lunch time special is a must as it’s 3 courses for £19 and that’s a bargain.
Service was excellent. Food was gorgeous. We had the beef sirloin char grilled roast dinner for 2 followed by dessert and coffee. Recommended. Book early to avoid disappointment because at 14.20pm they had run out of Chicken, Beef and Lamb roast dinner. Also as an added bonus for me I had 25% off the bill using my Blue light card NHS discount. We left a generous tip as the staff were happy staff
Breakfast is OK, nothing special Dinner was a rush , single person eating , and both starters and main turned up at once ? No offer of an apology. No meal check , it needed one , and no offer of more drinks , I get the idea i was in the way and it was effort to do anything for me. As I said it's OK food but don't expect any service and it's not anything special to eat.
Service was good but food was poor. I suppose for nearly £7 you can't complain, but I won't be back in a hurry. I noticed later the guacamole was missing too.
We stopped off for lunch on the way to a short break. It was busy for a weekday lunchtime but the service was friendly and quick without feeling rushed. The food was tasty and my steak was cooked as I like it. The starters were a bit small for the price but two courses were more than enough. We would happily eat here again if we are in the area.
Me and my partner went here for the cheap value and so we’re expecting mediocre food. However, we were so pleasantly surprised as our food was so so good !! The steak was so beautifully cut and didn’t taste like a cheap cut we managed to get three courses each, 1 beer, 1 coke & 2 cocktails all for £46!! Very impressive for a chain restaurant
Lovely escape from takeaway food on a journey across the UK, just off the motorway. Very understaffed for a Saturday night. Our table was cleared after 15 minutes of sitting but not wiped down so it was very sticky. Toilets and surroundings were clean and the place had a nice atmosphere.Food: 3/5
It says it all in the name, traveller's rest. We had just driven from Yorkshire on our way home to Wales. Tired and hungry we had no reservation however they were warm and welcoming. They were very friendly and accommodating with the menu. Food was excellent and the customer service was outstanding. Were were fuelled and rested to continue our journey. Would highly recommend.
We are not local and stopped in as the easiest restaurant on our route, which was just half hour into our 3 hour drive home. So happy we did, we got the sharing starter which was well presented, there was plenty there, it came quickly, was cooked perfectly and tasted fantastic. The main came very soon afterwards so not much time to digest and my choice of chunky chips over skinny fries was forgotten but I didn't honestly mind so didn't say anything. Again the meal was lovely. The restaurant was pretty at our visit, comfortable and good clean functioning toilet facilities and plenty of on site parking. The staff were lovely and attentive. It's a been few years since going to a beefeater and I was really pleased that we popped in.
