Visited for a calvery. Very friendly staff. Food amazingService: 5/5
We stayed in the 4 bed room. Ideal location for where we wanted to explore, staff were friendly. Beds were comfy and bedding looked very new and clean. Parking is available on the pubs carpark. There were some toiletries in our bathroom. With a bit of paint and tlc this place could get 5 stars.
Certainly wasn't a 4 star hotel! Bedroom furniture needs binning, the shower know fell off in my hand and the shower door leaked the water from the tray all over the bathroom floor, the pub was local people nice and friendly but wouldn't recommend anyone stay in the rooms!
The worst pub I have ever been to. No wine available until next day ? Dirty and a real mess. They do not deserve a Cask Marc from CAMRA. Defiantly a place to miss.
I called ahead and explained that I would be later arriving. The staff were friendly and polite. The room was spacious tho a little cold this morning... Will be staying again next time I'm working in the area
Lovely country pub run by a Canadian family who took it over 17 weeks ago. Very friendly and welcoming. We called in for a coffee by chance and returned the following evening for a meal. Great atmosphere, very reasonable prices and great food. Highly recommended.
1 star is too good. I called and booked directly. Paid in full over the phone and was told we would be in room 7 family room. On arrival at 6pm we were informed by the lovely apologetic staff member that the key wasn’t on the premises and we were offered a drink while we wait, after a long 5 hour drive with our 2 children we decided to visit a family member instead. We arrived again at 10pm and were shown to Room 8. At a quick glance it had everything we needed but on further inspection it was most appalling. Initially we noticed that the bathroom door had no lock and didn’t close properly, there was no hand soap in the bathroom, the main light didn’t work and the tv aerial wasn’t attached. Luckily we had our own soap, the small lamp worked and we managed to connect the tv. With 2 tired children we settled them into bed and started to unpack….the wardrobe door was off the hinges and propped against the other door. I filled the dirty kettle, boiled, emptied and boiled again - I was desperate for a cuppa! Some packets of milk were out of date and the tea bags had dust on them so I opted for the sealed packet of coffee instead. I sat on the bed and hit the divan bed base. At this point we started looking for other hotels but as it was 11.45pm, we failed. We managed a couple of hours sleep after listening to the occupant below snoring and having a peaceful sleep. The bathroom was filthy with part used shampoo and lynx shower gel that had dust on the top, the sink was badly stained with lime scale, the bin had been emptied but the lid was covered in dust. There was dust and mould on all the windows and the whole room felt damp. There was rubbish left in the drawers from the previous occupants and the floor was covered in stains. It was obvious that there had been no deep clean or following of covid regulations. We packed our belongings and left. I have never stayed in such a dirty place.
Awsome place great staff good quality food. The rooms are masive nice and clean. As a contractor these are great digs. We'll worth the money.
Was overwhelmed by the welcome we recieved. We only wanted to watch the rugby and were looked after like royalty. A complementary curry and chips at half time was pleasantly recieved too. We will be visiting again for sure
Amazing food, very relaxed atmosphere. We had a table booked for 1pm and didn't wait long between courses. Very kind and went the extra mile for the two children who attended the meal with us three adults. Nothing was any trouble for the owner and staff. Highly recommended and we will return thanks guys :
