Don't like the management Whitney because she never liked me because I am northern so it's always a femanazis lefty excuse to bring me down and treat me different in a bad way. Ok well my perspective she is lazy as she spends all her time on laptop doing nothing and expects the workhorses to do everything. Her method of management is a joke because label's and pictures are a guideline for putting dangerous food allergens out that's may hurt someone especially when she dictates it as in a hurry up factor Which causes the working environment to be slow, depressing and lack of activity. Very passive aggressive towards me for doing my job and blame shifting me all because of what happened was there were last minute bookings are and that's somehow my fault.
Its a lovely building with very friendly staff. It has wheelchair accessible entrance. You can drop someone off outside but it's red route. There is an NCP carpark 5 minutes from the building. The disabled toilets are near the entrance and is very clean and spacious. The meeting rooms are big and well kept BUT the sound quality for large groups is poor. Its a little better in the low ceiling room we used for our second meeting but the high vaulted ceiling we used for our first meeting had very poor noise control. We could hear the meeting in the adjoining room and people in the corridors. My concern with this building, its not really equipped for a disabled person, fine for someone in a wheelchair - wide corridors and room entrances BUT not for someone with difficulty walking. There are no hand rails, the benches in the corridors for seating are way too low and there are no "armed" chairs in the meeting rooms. I found it "scarry" to walk along the corridor, as it was so wide and nothing to hold on to. I'm sure a rail could be aesthetically added to the wall without taking away from the 'open brick' look of the corridors or adding a few armed chairs to meeting rooms.
Gorgeous gem of a building close to Aldgate East station, it’s a little hidden in the corner but once you know it’s there, it can’t be missed. I stopped by to take a look but it’s mainly used for meetings. The reception area is interesting and it’s steeped in social history! Pop in and take a look!
The staff were really helpful, especially the kitchen staff. The place is really lovely and good for events. Has alot of history; you could literally stand in the Ashbee room and feel the history emanating from the walls with the sculptures and plaques wonder what families or homes those represented in the room. Great windows for if you're looking for a bright venue and accessible toilets.
Attended a conference here. The 2 main rooms we used were lovely. The staff were very helpful and the food was great. One minor thing, the wooden flooring creaks a lot when walked on and this sound was distracting when trying to listen to a speaker.
Great experience with the legal advice team. Much appreciated their hard work, the support and advice they give to clients. Highly recommended!
I attended a one-day academic event here at Toynbee Hall. The building was newly refurbished and was perfect for history-related topics. Food and snacks were quite good, way above conference average. The staff here were nice and helpful. During the break, the staff gave a brief review of the historical development of Toynbee Hall and the charity works the organisation has been committed to since its establishment. It was a happy surprise to see many Oxbridge connections here.
Nice park to sit and relax. In sunny days, you can bring and enjoy a snack and a drink
Beautiful buildings, lovely people working there! Also super close to Spitalfields and all the delights of Shoreditch
The newest site of interest on the Jack the Ripper tour. This is the lair of the Ripper. The site he returned to after each killing. This is Michael Maybrick’s lair and a must visit location for all Ripperologists.
