Town Farm Cottages

80 of us stayed there for the weekend last March and despite being a bunch of (middle-aged) adventure bikers, we were incredibly welcome. Charles provided a group firepit, in our own field and kept us stocked up with wood. The washing block, though a bit small was well appointed and warm, important as temperatures dropped to below freezing overnight. Great campsite that I'm not certain I want to tell too many people about in case it gets full and can't make room for me.

We arrived on this lovely campsite on the Saturday. The view was amazing. Charles the owner was so helpful and friendly. Our friends arrived without their airbed and Charles provided them a mattress, he also supplied a fire pit and wood. I will defiantly be visiting this site again. Charles good luck and well done, see you again Trudie, Rob, Debbie and Dave. :)

We stayed over on the way home from France just before the bank holiday August 2010. Charles was fantastic service was going beyond what we expected and have grown to expect from campsite owners over the 40 years of camping we have done. We arrived late and need to eat at a local pub Charles gave us a lift to the bridle way below the farm, with out this ride I'm sure the kitchen would have been closed and we would have missed out on some great food and drink at the rose and crown The location is a top of the hill with great far reaching views and the sky is dark with little light pollution stars are bright and clear. we stayed the moon was very bright and obscured some of the less bright stars .. I'm tempted to stay here again should we require a campsite in the Chiltens again. already recommend the site to others should they be looking for a campsite in the area !

Great over night stay, lovely facilities. Excellent customer service skills from Charles (exemplary in fact). Wonderful views, great on site facilities. Could do with a couple more stand pipes for water dotted around the site, but it certainly was not a big problem. Highly recommended
