Best experience i've ever had at a surgery. I feel really listened to and heard by every practitioner i've had, gotten referrals for things when needed. The doctors and the nurses are extremely empathetic and helpful, and you really get the impression you are being understood and helped. Only bad experience was recently this Jan when I had a chest infection for two weeks. I work in the industry and know when antibiotics are required, and on my first call was told to just wait it out even though it had already been so long, I couldn't function and I was coughing green mucus every 10 minutes. Though three days later I called again when it worsened to the point I couldn't breathe and a different Doctor seemed horrified that I wasn't on antibiotics already and wrote a prescription before I even asked, so points for that though I could have avoided the extra suffering if i'd have been on a course earlier - though I am well aware that antibiotics shouldn't be handed out in most cases so I understand the initial hesitation even if it was the wrong choice in this case. Prescriptions always come down to my pharmacy early even though it's all the way over in mastrick. Really good GP.
The receptionists are great, but there is a brown female doctor i did not mean to be racist, 0% that was extremely rude. Always cutting what i need to say and pressing the time too much saying that i have passed the time limit. She lied about how long i have called her since my phone shows how long the call had happened. Whenever i tried to answer her questions by my best she dismissed my words and said that i answered wrongly. Whenever i tried to tell my answer slowly to avoid misunderstanding she dismissed my answer again, trying to speed me up and, guilt trip me by saying i waste her time again and again.nnI tried my best to understand her but she is so difficult to talk with. No compassion, no patience and Aggresive. The second time i been placed on call with her. She started our conversation very aggresively that i feel so humiliated, degraded and bullied. I ask the hospital not to give her as my doctor because i am too scared.nnThe management should listen to the recording of my calls with her and devide whats the best course of action. I admit that i had my bad part too because i was distressed at that time. I regret my decision that i ever rely on torry medical practice.nnHope you will hear my voice
The ladies from reception are amazing. But the nurse who returned the call was very arrogant, rude, unprofessional. I told her my sister just finished her antibiotics, and she needs a proper check to know more what was going on. She was very rude and said: if we are not happy with the antibiotics again, I need to find a new doctor or a new GP. I never felt so neglected, disrespect in my life. Very disappointed.
Foned and seen the same day with my ill grandson, he gets very stressed at the gp, but the clinician l saw was brilliant with him and got him sorted out with medication and a follow up fone call with results.Thank you all again he is feeling much better.
Feel bad leaving a negative review as you can tell the doctors do try their best however the team of reception staff are really unprofessional, especially the lady with shoulder length hair working for holburn medical group, believe her name is Diane.nnThe amount of bad experiences I have had first hand, the way she speaks to the staff at torry medical practice - it’s appalling and certainly off putting.nnI called yesterday morning to get a phone appointment, the lady on the phone said someone will call me back.nI gave her all the details, and asked if I should call back after lunch if I don’t get a call back, she says no someone will definitely call you before then.nWas now after lunch and I hadn’t heard, I called for someone to say there’s no phone appointments left, I explained I already called in the morning and I needed to speak to someone today as I had bloods in the next day and it was to see if another set of bloods could be added on.nnI got passed onto Diane for her to start the conversation with “First of all you’re using our email inappropriately” I asked what was wrong, she said it can only be used to send photos to GPS, I explained her reception staff had reached out to me to confirm an appointment time and I had to reply to them. She followed up with “well they shouldn’t be doing that either, I’ll speak to them”nNo apology, no understanding just pure ignorance.nI was also confused as to why the message of my appointment request was only put through the system over an hour after I had called, Diane had tried to re-assure me that I did not call the practice at all, and when given the exact timings I called of my phone she just said she’s not sure what’s happened.nnNow I understand that things get stressful working in healthcare, you may forget to put a message through etc but you should not blame the patient when it wasn’t their mistake.nnI then had an appointment today, rung the buzzer, light on the buzzer lit up and I was let in.nI stood at the desk for a good 7 minutes and no one was able to check me In although plenty of staff were available, I came up to the closest person available which was Diane and asked politely if she could check me in, she turned very rude straight away stating “can you not see everyone is busy” - while her mouth was full of biscuits.nThen followed up with “that’s why you ring the buzzer” at that point I just asked how she thinks I got in, the comments made by her were beyond ridiculous.nShe then points at a short brown haired girl at the desk and goes “you, check her in”nI felt really bad for her, certainly not how management should treat other staff.nnThere has been a lot of times my tests have been lost by the practice, appointments not put in or delayed etc but not once have I ever been rude or not understanding, it’s a shame one person can really make your experience horrible.nnOn a positive note, Dr. Rahman has been absolutely brilliant, Nicola and Brenda! Thank you for your help.
