One of the better doctor surgeries in Aberdeen. The staff are lovely and actually take time to listen to your issues. As with all surgeries right now getting a same day appointment is rare, but not impossible if you are in need of immediate attention.
After 2 months since my first visit with a GP and many calls and visits at the surgery on whole that time, I had to travel abroad to get an urgent health issue investigated, as the GPs refused to consider my problem needed to be investigated as soon as possible. When I came back to the UK with a diagnostic and a treatment to be started asap for a broken cyst I've been told the GP can only sees me after a month, although I've explained to the reception that the specialist I've seen abroad said I will need to start the treatment immediately.
Incompetent clowns. My partner used their check-in machine upon entry. She arrived before her appointment time and waited for over half an hour. The machine failed to send the notification, leading to her not being seen. They refused to see her and offered her an appointment three weeks away. The receptionist was about as much use as a chocolate teapot. This practice is a disgrace to the NHS. The muppets running it need to get a grip - look at how many one star reviews you have; do something about it and start looking after your patients.
If you want to be ignored, not helped at all with your mental health this is the place to go. The doctors don’t listen when I tell them my medication isn’t working, they know I’m struggling and don’t even make review appointments. They don’t listen when I say It’s getting harder to cope or that my psychiatrist I was assigned to is terrible and they take his advice. I told them my medication doesn’t work and isn’t helping at all, I have been on it for almost a year and their advice is just stick to it and I’ll give you a week supply of an addictive medication and don’t give me any advice or follow up for after that week is finished. The receptionist also, one specifically who likes to say to me “what’s wrong now” she needs to be fired, older woman with a huge attitude problem who makes you feel like you’re a burden. Update: most of the doctors are useless, they keep going “mhmm” while I’m speaking and I’m currently visiting family in another town close by and they said they won’t treat me because I’m not in Aberdeen.. I said that I can easily get through to Aberdeen but no they’re refusing me.
This practice does not care about their patients. I have been with the practice for 22 years, before I was even born. They have lost test results from an surgical exploration, turned me away during a frightening mental health crisis - telling me I should do a self referral to Penumbra - and more recently refused to refer to an educational psychologist despite being advised to by an audiologist. When I had the whooping cough, one of their unsupervised student doctors over prescribed antibiotics which then resulted in me overdosing. I have notes lined up in case I die because their mental health support is useless. None of the doctors care, despite this being a value that SHOULD underpin their practice.
Used to be probably the best in Aberdeen. The quality of care has been spiralling down for the past 2 years, with an exception of a few doctors and nurses that act genuinely and professionally. Sadly started to look for alternatives after being registered here for nearly 15 years.
Reluctant to even give one star to this practice I am disgusted and appalled at the way I have been treated by the receptionists, I felt that after 40yrs of being a patient there I had no choice but to leave as my concerns were falling on deaf ears and instead of my welfare higher members of staff were more interested in their girls receptioniststhan that of the patients and tried feebly to defend "their girls" rude,unprofessional behaviour, its an absolute disgrace
They kept ignoring my phone calls about what turned out to be serious repetitive strain injury. I was ignored for weeks, told to take more pain killers. When I complained about not feeling well, was told that I can get more pills prescribed that would help for pain killers side effects. Just a joke. If I waited for them to help me and didn't go somewhere else privately my injury could've turned into permanent dissability.
The experience was the worst I had so far with a GP They don’t care about their patients!!!! Shame
Completely refuse to allow a deaf person in to see a doctor, told its telephone call appointments only.....well that's not going to work am deaf!!
