We had to book a table two weeks in advance but it was definitely worth the wait. Mouth-watering vegetarian Chinese dishes, excellent service, and cute decoration. I appreciate that there were many waitresses and waiters to ensure that everything runs smoothly and they all seemed like they really care about the restaurant and didn't look overworked even though the place was packed. That's at least the impression I had on that day! We particularly enjoyed the wonton dumplings, which were packed with flavor. And there's a big variety of dishes, so we'll be definitely coming back to try more dishes.
Great food and definitely not lacking in flavour. We ordered 6 dishes between 3 of us. All the dishes were really good and very close to the meat versions. Portions are on the smaller side, so order more if you are hungry. It’s a bit pricey, but good. Will be coming back to try more dishes. Also make sure to book. It gets very busy!
The food here was absolutely delicious!! I literally wanted everything on the menu! Everything was so flavorful and tasted really authentic and fresh! The servers were all super friendly and really made the experience that much more lovely. I already can't wait to go back! I highly recommend coming here if you like Sichuan food or spicy food!!!
Fresh, preservative-free and intensely flavourful food. They've veganised a wide variety of dim sum and dishes incredibly well. Recommend the silken tofu surprisingly delicious and the sizzling fried tofu. Only complaint: they didn't have a large enough table for all the dishes we ordered.
TLDR; good authentic northern Chinese dishes without the meat. Atmosphere is great but make sure you book in advance and prepare to pay a little more than most Chinese restaurants. With a name like Tofu Vegan, I expected the restaurant to be another trendy / hipster up start. However, I was very pleasantly surprised to find that this place is not only very good but also super authentic. The menu is full of northern Chinese dishes. The authentic kind with lots of spices and aromatics. The substitute of meat with various forms of tofu was done well too. This works perhaps because the menu has been carefully curated so that many of the dishes are not protein dominant. As soon as I walked in, I felt the authenticity of a good Chinese restaurant. From the lovely smell of the dishes to chatter of many tables, all combined with a subtly and classy decor. The only downside is that this place is incredible popular so getting a table without a booking is like the lottery. This popularity also means that they can get away with slightly higher prices which means it’s not a destination for the value hunters
One of my favourite restaurants in London. Probably my favourite vegan restaurant. Been here a couple of times. Food is amazing, staff very friendly and knowledgeable. If you fancy some Chinese without the meat/chicken/fish, then this is the place to be. The fake fish in particular is fantastic. Mushroom dishes and dumplings are simply awesome. The only issue is I think I have to go a few more times to try everything on the menu. On top of that there is also the Golders Green branch that has some different items on their menu. Vegetarian options: It is a vegan place anyway :
This place is really popular, so make sure to make a reservation! I had to book a table two weeks in advance, but it was worth it. Every dish was delicious and had a lot of flavors. I really enjoyed the sizzling tofu which had a slightly crispy skin, a very soft interior and an aromatic sauce. The battered "fish" was really flavorful, too! This restaurant is perfect for people who enjoy spicy, authentic and vegan Sichuan food. Vegetarian options: All dishes were vegan and absolutely delicious
Amazing food, service and atmosphere. I have a lot of intolerances and they were so accommodating. There's a lot of choices too and the staff made great recommendations to make sure we got the best out of wide variety. Big enough portions to take some home too. Will definitely be going back! Vegetarian options: Everything, it's a vegan restaurant Dietary restrictions: Good for coeliacs, fodmapping & allergies
Unfortunately the food is bland. Well made, but bland. I've tried 7 or 8 different dishes and they were all fine but bland. The portions of rice are tiny and you can tell they portion them out and leave them for ages, the top layer gets dry and the middle of the rice is mushy. Very few tea leaves in the tea pot - weak tea. Overall disappointing considering Chinese cuisine should be packed with flavour. Service is very good though.
The food here is absolutely amazing!! I’d highly recommend this place to anyone. My group had 2 vegans, 1 vegetarian and 1 omnivore and everyone really enjoyed the food
