I popped in here for some late lunch with my partner after being recommended it by a good friend of mine and unfortunately I was left disappointed. We started off by getting some starters which were grilled King Prawns and Fried calamari rings. The prawns were mushy in texture which gave me the feeling they weren’t fresh nor did they taste great. The calamari rings were so small and what looked like a child’s portion although they tasted good. The starters did not impress at all. As for the mains we both god fried cod which came with chips and I asked for a lovely Greek salad. The fish arrived and it was quite nice if I’m honest, crispy and succulent yet the chips were cold and did not look fresh. The most disappointing part was the greek salad. In my whole life of eating greek salad I have not known it to contain lettuce yet our bowl was 90% lettuce and some tomatoes with cucumbers and some red onion. I’m Cypriot myself so I know what a Greek salad is yet when I mentioned it to the waitress she said “that’s how we do it here… what you’re used to is how they do it on greece” completely wrong! Not once was I asked if the food was okay and clearly she saw me unhappy about the salad and nothing. None the less, I came and tried the food and with great disappointment I wasn’t satisfied. Wish them the best but I won’t be returning.
Best fish I have tried in a long time! Chips are amazing tooFood: 5/5
My favourite chippy in London so far. I've visited many times over the past few years. The haddock and chips is delicious. 5* for the food when you dine in. The fish isn't as good if you choose to takeaway. I'll definitely keep returning to dine in! The staff are lovely and the service is great. It has a great vibe too.Food: 4/5
Amazing proper Englisch Restaurant. Fish is quality and is prepared Delicious and fresh in a classic way. Meat pies are delicious ! Staff is very welcoming and forthcoming, attentive and friendly. Overall an amazing restaurant to visit not only for their amazing fish & chips ! Wow
Great fish and chips but unfortunately the place seems to be conducted in a very arrogant way. When I entered the dining area, I saw an available table without any signage of reservation and decided to sit there. A very rushed lady got very annoyed and told me they were fully booked. I was almost leaving and then she said I could try to sit upstairs. Well, upstairs it was another story: the guy taking care of the tables was very patient and welcoming. The fish and chips is really good but honestly there are some great other places in London where you don't need to join a huge queue for takeaway, book a table for dining or almost be sent off the place because the lady in the main area does not have customer service skills. This is very disappointing and sad because the fish and chips was great and the guys upstairs were treating everyone really well.
The best fish and chips I’ve had in London. I recommend fried battered cod with their homemade tartar sauce.Food: 5/5
The family and I love stopping by Toff’s! The food is always fresh and delicious; my fish is crispy, the chips are exceptional, and the atmosphere is great! We highly recommend Toff’s! Cheers, Giovanni Marino, M.D.
Here's one of the best fish & chip shops renowned over the years in Muswell Hill.. Brilliant pit stop for a spot of lunch, be it the fish, battered Sausages, chips or whatever else you might fancy; it always goes down a treat.. Customer servic wonderful as always 5* Would recommend based on overall experience
Best fish and chips I have ever had. Actually behind the FnC front there is a really small but Cosy easy area in wood-pub eatery style. And a great very fresh fish menu. So I got a grilled dover sole instead of a classic fry-up. It was brill. Our table also tried the king prawns. Chips come in two styles, classic soggy or crispy well done. They also cater for vegetarians and not just mushy peas which were great. A choice of salads available. The dessert menu has just 4 choices I think but who meds to look past the treacle pudding with lashings of custard?!! Staff on the ball and quick to catch the eye and serve. The food arrives piping hot and the plates were warmed. Lots of attention to detail which makes simple food super. No wonder they are famous !
I haven’t had a good meal at Toffs since… we came again on Monday! I love your food. my husband has his fish in batter and I have mine grilled. It is always so fresh and cooked so well. Even the desserts are heavenly. Well done, congratulations. You are the best fish and chip shop in North London, London, England, the world.
