Really lovely fresh vegetables and a bustling atmosphere. There was a small mix up with my order, but it was dealt with beautifully and I was very happy. We ate in the bar area and it was fine, but if you want to sit in the dining area, I would book a table because it gets busy, especially on a Sunday.Food: 5/5
Went for breakfast with my partner, my daughter and friends. Arrived at 10:20am and waited by the “please wait to be seated” sign. Once someone came to us, we were told to go order at the bar and find a table. We ordered and went to get our food. It was a 20 minute wait to see if they had any sausages. They were poor quality and tasted like mash sausages. We couldn’t go back for more as they stopped food. So our unlimited breakfast wasn’t unlimited at all. The disabled toilet is a mess. The toilet wouldn’t flush and the baby changing facilities are awful. No bin for the dirty nappies and wipes. Disappointing service, really upset.
Driven past The Shrimp hundreds or thousands of times and wondered occasionally, if we should eat there. My wife had ideas of dried up food under lights, so we never did - until today. We were pleasantly surprised by the value. Quality was decent at the price and service was friendly - though seemed a little stretched, as it was Saturday tea time. We took a takeaway for a friend and he was also pleased with quality and quantity at the price.
Well! This place had been on the decline over the past months and we had been disappointed to say the least, as we were regular customers. However, I was delighted and pleasantly surprised over the transformation and the quality and freshness of the food and service. We will most definitely return and I also expressed my feelings to the manager with high praise.
Brilliant food, all freshly made. Friendly staff. Meg the carver was so kind to us when carving for us. She was very patient and kind when serving. our waitress Amy was also pleasant and whitty making my whole family laugh. We will definitely be returning after such a lovely meal. Parking: huge car park with many spaces
9 of us for daughters birthday book ed weeks before . Table wasn't ready not even set up .then they set table in middle so it blocked all other customers. Those customers weren't happy about it . Had carvery 9 of us long wait get to counter looked like feeding time at the zoo . Instead of changing pots to refill new food was being plonked onto food that had been under hot plates food everywhere . I've never seen such a mess to be honest . No labels for sauces so didn't know what some were .was going to have puddings but could face it after that fiasco
My family and I visited the carvery towards the end of Sunday evening, so, while there was still food to be served, certain staples of the roast dinner had not been replenished. The beef and turkey were cooked to perfection though. Staff were attentive when needed.
We went for some late lunch at the carvery. We tend to sit in the bar area, we were greeted by Alex and she was very friendly and observant. Our tables were cleared as soon as we had finished and she was running around cleaning the other tables regularly. The man on the door was very kind and informative of the veggie menu. Kid-friendliness: They have colouring sheets and crayons for the kids
The staff members Jack's was amazing she was friendly, made sure we got what we needed, the extra mile. I was unhappy to see that the restaurant wasn't being managed well, ques out the door, staff looking stressed, hot and no shift manager to be found, also unhappy to find out that ur company still does zero hour contract there no need for that you should have a 4hr minimum, and also that if customer left without paying the staff are to pay when it's your fault as you don't have enough staff to cover the busy periods, but also why don't you take payment/or card details as you seat us then you'll never have walk outs. A few things I'd like your company to consider, happy, protected staff will work harder and make more profit for you
Still a cracking carvery, haven't visited in a good few years but finally visited again on the weekend. Still as good as it was. Also tried the breakfast over the bank holiday which I didn't realise they did until recently. Was very pleased with that also the bacon was especially tasty. Will definitely be back again
