Have been to this carvery on a few occasions in the past with the food being consistently good, and also good value, especially when you have the Toby app that provides plenty of offers.nBut what prompted me to leave a review today was the exceptional customer service provided by our waitress Caroline, who is a credit to the Toby Carvery team. Efficient and with a friendly demeanor, she provided great customer service that is sadly lacking in many eateries nowadays.
I think by now most people know what they get from a Toby Carvery. This review is simply about our waitress service. Our waitress was Caroline, and she was head and shoulders better than any waiter or waitress we have ever had at any of the Toby Carveries we have been to. On first encounter, she was friendly, engaging, efficient and clear with menu options and dietary advice we had a Vegetarian and a person with nut allergies in our ranks. Her manner, composure and obvious experience meant we all knew she would return with exactly the drinks we had ordered not a given. Then in many ways she went over and above for us, doing things that no other waiter or waitress had ever done before. Two examples - she asked all of us 9 in total if we wanted to go back for seconds, and when only I said I would, she asked what I wanted and by request, returned having hand picked a few of the most well done, crunchy Sage & Onion Roast Potatoes! My wife later got up to refill her Diet Coke and Caroline said she would get it and did so. The Toby Management may argue that neither are part of her job description, and that there are other essentials that need to be prioritised, but it is acts like these that will make people return, and I am very sure she had her finger on the pulse so that no other tables suffered in service. If not already, she should be used to mentor junior staff. If I ran the place, I would be so happy she was on my team. Great job Caroline. A big well done and thank you from all of us for adding to our experience...
Had dinner here last night and could not fault the food or the service.nWe were attended to by Caroline, she was absolute perfection, an absolute credit to the business.nShe was so attentive and considerate with my dietary needs even though she was rushed off her feet.nShe needs a raise!
Caroline gave some of the best service I have experienced. Truly wonderful at her job and made my family feel so looked after and welcome.nCaroline was the only reason for the 5 stars. She is the 5 stars
