Whilst on holiday and enjoying a family cycle ride, a dog jumped out on us causing my daughter to swerve and a minor pile up to occur. End result was a snapped derailleur eight miles from our car. We used Google and called around a couple of cycle shops to be told the same thing: lots of different types of derailleurs, few kept in stock, normally takes a couple of weeks to order in. We found Tim’s shop via Google but by then were expecting a ‘sorry, can’t help’ and the end of our cycling holiday. Tim was awesome! Although he didn’t have a new part, he salvaged a 2nd hand ‘near enough’ part from a pile of old bikes and went to work on my daughter’s wreck. Not only did he fit the replacement derailleur but he straightened her wheel, removed a kink in her chain and tuned her gears. Within half an hour, our holiday was saved and he barely asked the price of a few pints. Can’t rate his customer service highly enough, especially when he must have known the chance of repeat business from us was minuscule. Throughout our visit, he seemed to get a stream of very happy regulars popping in and it seemed clear he’s a local institution. So if you need a bike or a great bike mechanic who won’t rip you off and aces on customer service, go to Tim!!

Tim looks after my Brompton and his care attention is fantastic. Best bike mechanic I have ever come across. Old school quality service. Totally recommend Tim’s Cycles.

The 2 chaps at Tim's are both brilliant, it's the only cycle shop I know of that has a Ebike engineer that doesn't charge an arm and a leg and are thoroughly pleasant to boot

Needed expert advice on the retro-fitted motor on my electric bike. Chris was particularly helpful, and offered expert advice and a practical solution. He keeps himself up-to-date with latest technology, and also offered an override solution for the hydraulc brakes. It involved fitting a reed switch fitted. I had previously searched the internet and found only expensive solutions, whilst he offered a cheaper modification.
