We had a Christmas Eve / Birthday meal, it was a great atmosphere and the food was very well cooked.worth a visit.
My friends decided to book a table for us to grab some dinner and take part in their pub quiz. They took our name for the booking but when we turned up on the night we were told that there is no booking. No one seemed to know nor care about the booking and several staff just shrugged saying we were not in that night in other words, not our problem... bye. The table they did have booked under our friends name we were told is for another 'regular' customer and as such we can't sit there. Turns out... it was our table after all! We just had to wait around for over half hour before everyone got their act together and consider that perhaps there is more than one person with their apparent favoured regular's name The food was slightly below average quality even to pub food standards because honestly the chicken skewers were SO DRY we could not even take it off the skewer! We laughed though because it was rock hard so we used it as a mock hammer instead. The chicken wings however were DELICIOUS!!! All in all once we managed to get a seat for the quiz and grab a bite, it was an ok night. Its good that they provide parking for free too. Not sure I personally would like to go back. -update : we did get convinced to go back in June by our friends and again overwhelmed and not so friendly staff resulted in us leaving within 10 minutes of arrival. Each to their own but personally I think of several venues with better service locally.
The pub is friendly and good for families. Popular with diners, the pub has an extensive menu of traditional pub fare at reasonable prices and if you have the Green King app on your phone or if you visit their website there are often discounts available. There is a good selection of drinks on offer including tea and coffee. Some parts of the pub are a little tired and could do with refurbishing.
Had a lovely lunchtime meal here today, the pub was very warm considering the weather was freezing with ice and snow outside. The staff polite and attentive. Food was hot and cooked well. Husband says they have the best IPA in britain. Happy customers. thanks
Me and family have been there on 3 occasions now as it is local and unfortunately the 1st time we visited it was hard work just getting served than when it came to ordering food that was even worse what ever we wanted they didn’t have so it was easier to make do with what they did which didn’t seem to be much we tried a second time round a month later hoping for better and it was and as for today there’s no way in hell me or the family will be going back again, we turn up sit down then told this table is reserved can’t sit at any of the tables apart from the high tables and chairs my parents are in there 70s can’t get on stools that high then we had at least 45min wait before we could order quite rude about the whole situation but ok we will wait so than we attempt to order 3 cappuccinos an 1 latte never guess what didn’t have that. Absolutely unreal we just walked out at that point and will never go back you get better customer service at a McDonald’s staff need training and occasional stocking the restaurant with the food and drink that they advertise in there menus.
Not from the area and was looking for a family friendly and dog friendly place to grab some food after school inside, as the evenings have gone too cool to be outside. Really great choice of food, tasted great and apparently the desserts even better. Will come again. Thanks!
We were given a very warm welcome, served by Jody-Anne, who was friendly and attentive. The service was brilliant and the food was absolutely delicious! Wish it was closer to home, as it would definitely be a regular haunt.
5 stars for great food, lovely staff and good choice of beers. BUT, As usual you will have to put up with the disgusting, loud, foul mouthed language from the workmen who frequent here daily hence 1 star. Definitely never a kids pub.
