My experience of Thrifty is mixed. Outstanding customer service at King's Lynn branch, reasonable customer service at Inverness and Luton. Last vehicle I had at Luton was a staff runner, it smelt of smoke and was pimped out for the young drivers

Add on cost even a month after the rental. Would not recommend them you can look up reviews online absolutely awful company to deal with.

Having already  pre-paid for the car, I was surprised to find out that they took the £250 excess of my bank account when I picked up the car. When I brought it back, they invited me to wait at reception desk whilst they checked the car, which I did: mistake ! I should have checked the car with them (which might even be a legal requirement ?). They told me then that there was a screw in the tyre, (that they showed me indeed) and straight away that the cost of repairs would match the £250 excess! Of course I have no proof but thinking back at the whole situation,  I suspect that it might have been a set up ? The other funny thing was when they asked us if we needed a lift back to the airport !!! Did they think that we would walk the several miles to there ? Anyway I would never use them again, and would advise any potential customers to be cautious.
