Rent from someone else.While their staff are friendly, their business practices are abhorrent and, I am beginning to believe, shady.  We returned our car on a Sunday, expecting it to be open.  When it was not, we looked for a key drop, which is standard practice for car rentals firms.  We are not novices to this routine and have rented cars all across the US, from Alaska to Philly, and Europe, from Heathrow to Rome.  
When we did finally leave the car, we reluctantly put the key in the boot/trunk, locked it up, and headed to our appointment in London.  We made several efforts to contact Luton Avis that evening and the next morning to let them know the situation.  The result was that they claim we 'made no effort' to find a key drop and that they 'had to order a new key' as there was only one key for that vehicle.  They charged us an extra week, claiming that was how long it took for the key to arrive. 
What an amazing claim: what car rental company has only ONE key for any vehicle?  And their CCTV would clearly have shown us searching (in vain) for 30 minutes for a drop box.  
We maintain they are untruthful in their correspondence. 
Please go somewhere else to rent a car.

We drove over some debris on the motorway which put some small marks on the under side of the bumper and they made us pay the excess. So for one day of car hire we paid 250 pounds!
Go to budget!
