I recently attended a wedding at Thornton Hotel and Spa, Liverpool, and overall, it was a pleasant experience. The venue offers stunning views, creating a beautiful backdrop for the occasion. The hall was spacious, accommodating the guests comfortably, and parking was convenient, which made arriving and leaving hassle-free. While I didn’t enjoy the food as much, I believe the catering was external and not representative of the hotel’s offerings. Apart from that, the venue itself is quite impressive, and I would recommend it for events.
The rooms are very average for the price. We came for a wedding which was good. But after the wedding we wanted to sit in the bar, which they closed early. They then kicked us out of the bar very rudely. The way they spoke to me, my mum and my uncles was disgusting. The behaviour of the duty manager was something I have never experienced before and as a brown family I would never stay at the hotel again.
Hotel was beautiful & our room was lovely! Very disappointed that we couldn’t use the spa till 3pm… we had a treatment booked for 3.15 so wasn’t any time left to use the spa as we were booked in for evening meal… apparently we could have used the spa a bit earlier if we paid an additional £20 per person which we thought was a bit discussing after paying £162 for a treatment… apparently they said this happens at other hotels but we’ve never had to pay extra for the spa… just be aware when you book this hotel Rooms: Beautiful Food & drinks: Very nice
I absolutely loved, loved, loved this place. We booked overnight stay with rasul treatment for our friend's 40th and it was perfect The spa was busy in the late afternoon so it's good to come earlier or maybe avoid weekends. I loved outdoor jacuzzi and sauna. Even in the rain. Swimming pool was not as warm as I would like to but still great. There was also indoor jacuzzi, steam room, sauna, infrared wall, and my favourite snow cave! Oh my gosh... there was a snow room. I mean everyone needs to try it! Rooms were spacious and beds really comfortable. We had an allowance for our evening meal and everything was absolutely delicious. I mean a good quality restaurant standard. If I had any criticism- the prices might be a bit higher than I expected but I think it was worth it. There's wasn't a huge choice for vegetarians but thankfully I loved my ravioli. From constructive criticism feedback I would suggest investing into better WiFi or change to Internet free retreat also the sink in the bathroom was causing flooding. But it was minor points compared to the whole weekend. I would definitely recommended it. Breakfast was delicious too!
I recently had the pleasure of staying at Thornton Hall Hotel. From the moment I arrived, I was greeted with warm hospitality and a serene atmosphere. The spa services were top-notch, offering a wide range of treatments that left me feeling rejuvenated and relaxed. The staff were professional and attentive, ensuring that my experience was nothing short of perfect. The hotel itself was beautifully designed, with luxurious amenities and comfortable accommodations. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a peaceful retreat with exceptional spa facilities. It truly exceeded my expectations and provided a memorable stay! : Food & drinks: 10/10 - special mention of a girl called Lara who was so attentive and friendly!
Wow!! What a beautiful hotel and spa this is. My daughter surprised me for my birthday. We have had the most amazing day. The staff could not do enough to help. Cream tea was delicious. The restaurant food was amazing. Spa, has everything and more, outside jacuzzi’s. These were just something else, sitting in beautiful sunshine overlooking the country side. We can’t wait to come back Visited on the 23/07/2024 Lynn & Shannon Rooms: Just so comfortable. Our disabled room was so spacious. Food & drinks: Drinks made were delicious Food just out of this world
Staff were warm and welcoming and very attentive. The facilities were very good the rooms in the separate block were a bit dated but had sufficient amenities. It was a lovely experience and I could not fault the food it was delicious and the breakfast was amazing.Rooms: 4/5
I took my mum away for a retirement present. I booked in for dinner, bed and breakfast. The room was absolutely beautiful, and so comfy! We even got a bottle of Prosecco in the room included in the package. On arrival staff was so friendly and helpful telling us everything we needed to know for our stay. We went over to the spa for some relaxation and it was amazing. We used the outdoor jacuzzi and the weather was perfect, the sun was shining down right above us. You can order drinks to the hot tub which is fantastic. The food of an evening was spot on, the steak was cooked to perfection. We also enjoyed our morning breakfast buffet. I would highly recommend staying here and would definitely return! :
Had a fabulous short break with the girls from work. Such a wonderful place. The rooms were lovely, clean and spacious. The shower was easy to use. Spar facilities and pool and hot tub were amazing and breakfast was ample and tasty. Staff were around but not in your face and very accommodating. Thanks for a great stay.Rooms: 5/5
Recently attended a friends wedding and was shocked at the level of service - it was appalling. The wedding coordinator didn’t visit the bride until an hour before the wedding, we had to go and find them. There was no allergen info when the food was served and the staff serving food didn’t know the allergens either despite having several people at the wedding with an allergy and being pre warned of this. This is also a legal requirement which is concerning. The bbq that they brought out to cook on was dirty and the chef even admitted it and still cooked on it anyway. The food was delayed - again had to chase this. They then later on brought out bacon sandwiches but had to wait an extra 40 mins for GF bread. The tills went down which I understand is no fault of anyone however there was a real lack of urgency to think of the back up plan if a calculator. On a positive note the room was lovely and very comfy bed
