Parked in Woolstaplers car park as it was near to the cathedral when we were visiting with elderly family. Tried to make additional payment on my phone but system would not allow me to do this. So now have fine to pay
Same as others - there is no signal underground and got landed with a £100 fine because you can’t pay for parking has to be done by phone or app. Tried to backdate to the time we arrived via the app but that wasn’t possible either. Avoid at all costs! Total scam. Also smelt really bad and there were clearly people living down there. Traffic light system was broken.
Seriously, don't park here. We left 2 minutes under the time and still got a £60 fine. Crooks. Apparently because it took us 3 minutes too long to download the app? This shouldn't be legal. Also, it's sketchy for women alone. Avoid avoid avoid.
Traffic light system is broken; Machines don't work; signage directs you to an app with no record of the car park; constant use by rough sleepers and drug users; distinct feeling of danger; terrible conditions. Avoid at all costs.
Parking here is free for Travelodge guests you have to log your registration at reception. Was nervous after the bad reviews but gave it a go. Entry traffic light is always red and Travelodge reception instructed to ignored. Lots of space over the August bank holiday weekend and very straight forward. There's a walk-way to Travelodge and yes smells a bit. Didn't see any homeless characters around as per other reviews.
This was my first visit to Chichester. Chose car park as near to House of Fraser which discovered is closed down;traffic light entry system is not working. Homeless people are sleeping next to pay machines. Pay machines are out of order. Stench of urine in staircase up to street level. Graffiti everywhere. Very bad impression of Chichester. Should be cleaned up or closed.
Same as other users. Faulty machines, payed extra due to the app fees and £100 parking fine because i was having issues with their machine and they argue I my ticket doesnt cover the full extent. If I had a lawyer and in a mortgage application process, I would definitely wouldnt pay the fine. Outrageous. Regarding the parking, the facilities were very dated, machines didnt work, didnt feel particularly secure and parking slots were narrow. One to avoid.
Avoid this car park - I followed P signs as a visitor to Chichester and ended up here. Didn't have the payment app, tried to download it but couldn't get signal. Tried a credit card but machine didn't respond. Had insufficient cash, so drove out to find somewhere else to park. Only in for 6 minutes - fined £60 !! You are allowed ZERO time to digest the signage and conditions so if you change your mind and don't pay a parking fee, you get fined. Where's the justice in that !!
Do not park here. Parking Eye scam with faulty machines to scam motorists and then you end up with £100 fine. Called Chichester Council who said this has been going on since before 2018 but no one will do anything about it
Don't park here! Rip off. Fighting charge of running over by 3.5 mins they issue a fine based on the time youve entered and exit the car park. Given there's no signal in this underground car park it wouldn't accept sending text, then took me 5 mins to call and do on credit card as not registering numbers on call keypad properly. Avoid at all costs. £60 fine for 3.5mins overstay. Harsh!
