Lovely place to stay, rooms are spacious and had a very large, comfortable bed.nLots of authentic charm about the building. Our room could have done with a slight update in some places and the crunching toilet can be disruptive, if you're not used to one but overall very nice roomnStaff were lovely and very helpful, took the time to make sure we were happy. The pub itself is excellent and again, seems to feel like your back in olden times.nFully recommend.
This is a mixed review so I'll do pros and cons.nnProsn- Excellent service with really friendly staffn- Beautiful room with big, comfortable bed and luxurious linensn- Nice big bath in bathroomn- Really nice and clean throughoutn- Pub downstairs is really nice and atmosphericnnConsn- The plumbing makes the most ungodly racket. I've attached a video to show I'm not exaggerating. It's a misophonic's nightmare.n- This one is kind of scroogey, but there was a quiz on in the pub the night we stayed and it was SO loud in our room. We were both wiped out, and just wanted to sleep, but weren't able to until the quiz night wound down. If you're sensitive to noise, check what's on in the pub the night you're staying.n- The food was a bit disappointing. Winter salad was literally just various leaves without any discernible dressing. Breakfast was good though.
Well done Gary & team. Lovely quirky old building with modern fixtures & fittings. Fabulous dinner menu, the fish & chips are delicious, a ‘must have’ for every guest. Comfortable room and amenities. We’ll definitely be back.
We had the best Sunday lunch we’ve ever had at the Woolpack . The pub is gorgeous, staff are lovely - funny and professional - my partner had the roast beef and I didn’t get a word out of him for the whole meal as he was enjoying it so much. I don’t eat meat and have suffered at the hands of dubious nut roasts across the entire county of Kent, but not at the Woolpack! Amazing nut roast - crispy and delicious. The vegetables were also stars in their own right - nothing heated up in a microwave etc. . . And the Yorkshire pudding was superb . . Love Love Love this Sunday roast, and would literally crawl on hands and knees from North Kent to go again . .
We stayed at The Woolpack for one night - yesterday Wednesday 13 November. Despite the building work next door nothing to do with The Woolpack we found the pub/hotel wonderful. A beautiful historical building with excellent staff. The pumbing was interesting - it added charm. The room was lovely and the staff superb. The food was excellent, both dinner and breakfast.nA special mention for the Manager, Garry we belive that's the correct spelling who was a master of all trades and an excellent host. We have reason to visit the area again and will do our best to book The Woolpack again.nThank you the Woolpack.
