Probably the closest we've got to a local round "our way". The food is okay, though it used to be much nicer. The burgers seem to be oversold on the menu, and it's a bit of a disappointment when they arrive. However, the burger itself IS tasty, and the other meals are great too. The Scampi, and Hanging Kebabs in particular - not to mention the carvery on a Sunday. There's weekly nights available too. Wednesday is Curry and a Pint night, followed by a quiz, and Thursday is Steak Night. Both of which are ace. There's probably more but I haven't been to them. The quiz in particular is pretty fun, and it's free to play. There's ample seating, and you can sit outside in all weather (thanks to the covered bit with the heaters [yes, fellow smokers, we've got heaters!]) but its best enjoyed in the sunshine, where you can look onto the grass with a G&T. On the whole the staff are great.

The carvery is great and very family friendly. It's a lovely pub too. However the day to day menu when I have been have really let it down. Just bland and basic is the only way I would describe it.

Went on Sunday, a roast dinner was an offer. Beef was hard to cut, turkey was good. The gravy was very thin and tasteless.
