On a cold, rainy, Mancunian evening, after navigating the labyrinth of one-way streets surrounding the restaurant, we arrived hungry & ready for takeaway service. Unbenownst to us, we were about to receive so much more. As we crossed the threshold into the interior that welcomed us with its warmth & understated elegance, we were greeted by a reserved, yet charming host, who upon hearing our desire for takeaway ushered us to a table. There, we were met by our host's attentive & generous colleague, who lavished us with a surprise complimentry cream liqueur. We set upon revealing our choices from a vast, varied & enticing menu to the staff who remained discrete & considerate to other patrons around us, dining in. Whilst we were waiting for our dinner to be prepared, we mused that this could become one of the best meals we've ever had. We began to appreciate further our immediate surroundings & basked in the glory of mohogany & beetroot purple, perfectly blended in the décor around the room. Much to our surprise, a bottle of premium lager was placed gently before our delighted eyes...gratis. Holding back our tears, we expressed our sincere thankfulness, as moments later the kitchen door swung open to reveal our friend holding an ample bag of Indian delights. When we arrived home, we dove into the depths of a seemingly bottomless bag of fragrant joy, which would soon be inside us. Little did we know, the gifts continued... 4 poppadoms instead of 2, along with a generous selection of 5 accompaniments (mango chutney, red onions, mint yoghurt, lime pickles & a mystery sauce which tasted as if it were a spicy heaven!) & a most unexpected pair of impressive onion bhajis. The entire meal, consisting of saag paneer to get us started, followed by dhansak with prawns & lamb tikka bhuna with pilau rice & garlic naan, was delicious! The abundant portions provided a wonderfully filling dinner & an exquisite lunch the following day. The Prachee- the only Indian takeaway in Prestwich we've visited & the only one we'll ever need.

Thank you to all at the Prachee who turned a bad night good. Warm friendly people, all the staff had a smile. Food was spot on, service was brilliant and most of all we were not rushed from our table just because it was a busy Saturday evening.
