We used The Woodman to do a party after our wedding abroad and we could not recommend the pub more for private hire parties/events! Anna, Jeremy and Brad were great at keeping in touch in the build up to the night and ensuring everything would be as we wanted. They arranged our DJ, did an amazing hot buffet and kept everyone topped up throughout the night! The staff were brilliant- so friendly and everyone had the best time! Special thanks to Anna who looked after everything on the day and was there for any help we needed! Ps the roasts here are great too!
We had a group booking for 74 people! They were the only pub happy to accommodate us all! The roast dinners were yummy, especially the pork belly. Loved the chef, super happy and helpful guy. Thanks to all the staff for a fun festive afternoon.
Just had Sunday lunch with a very large group of adults & children. Delicious food and very generous portion sizes. Very friendly and attentive staff. Will definitely be back. Arts & crafts table & staff really nice touch to keep little ones entertained. Thanks to the whole team
Lovely place inside, used a groupon voucher and the menu options were the same for those without a voucher. Portions were healthy and piping hot. everyone had a full bellies with 2 of us took home doggy bags. Jeremy was very friendly and he also moved our reservation slot without a fuss. Will definitely be back again.
For the 2nd year running my family and I had Christmas dinner at The Woodman and we had a great time, just as we did last year. It was very busy on Christmas day and all of the staff coped extremely well and were attentive, chatty and helpful. They worked so hard. Thank you to the wonderful team at The Woodman for looking after my family and all of the other guests for Christmas. Merry Christmas to the whole team from the Lowe family.
THANK YOU AMY. I don't usually write reviews, let alone for a pub. However the service me and my party experienced last weekend really felt like I was being serviced in a decent restaurant slash homely dinner. Our hostess, Amy: was very funny, friendly and took great care to our needs. Will definitely be back : 100% Recommend the bangkok bad boy burger!
Despite the less than picturesque location, I am somewhat surprised to say I really enjoy this pub. It's never been "too busy" each time I've visited. They have happy hour on weekdays and you can get a £3 pint, which is quite rare and I can't remember the last time I saw that in London. Have eaten here once and it was totally fine although a little on the pricier side. Not a huge selection of beers but still something for everyone. Comedy here is good and the garden is very fun and sociable in the summer, despite the view onto the road. Has a charm that I can't put my finger on. Recommend if you're nearby.
We have just had our Christmas dinner at the woodman for a group of 19. Service was fantastic Jeremy and his staff were amazing and couldn’t do enough. Thank you for a great Christmas Day and meal.
A beer and a good feed for a £10 before the football. You’d pay double the coin at AFC Wimbledon and it wouldn’t be as good
The Sunday Roasts were awful. Only the dog ate well as we put the food into a doggie bag. We had to wait over 40 minutes for the food to arrive after twice asking where it was. When it did come the vegetables were undercooked and the beef raw, not rare as suggested when we complained. We were given complimentary bottle of wine but had to by some nuts and crisps to stave off the hunger. We had been to the pub some years ago and it was OK, won't be going back again.
