The service was great! Friendly. Attentive. Good menu. Decent beer selection. It all has a comfy, quite relaxing feel to it. We just stopped for a quick bite near the bar. I'd come back for dinner or stay for a couple and I'm sure I'd enjoy it.

Excellent modern pub with great service and wonderful food. Not so much traditional as forward-looking: you won't find it full of walkers, log fires and smelly dogs. But you will find a warm welcome, and great quality in every detail. The staff are just the right combination of polite and friendly. Helpful without trying too hard. Top tip: the set menu is a steal for the level of food on offer.

Disappointing. We've been going here for years but it
just gets more and more mediocre. The food is lacklustre -
lacking in freshness and imagination. The service is
perfunctory. The music is loud and horrible. The lighting
and decor are so drab and depressing. And the prices
are no longer good value - a bottle of Montagny costs £44.
Sad.

A very welcoming atmosphere - live jazz music really added to the experience. The staff were very attentive and we didn't feel obliged to rush through the meal. The food was delicious, with a special mention for the parsnip soup, the crab starter, the side vegetables and the donuts. Thank you very much - plan to come again.

The White Oak in Cookham is always busy - and for good reason. It's serves really great quality food, with very friendly and accommodating service. It's a little pricy but very much on par with places like The Ferry and Bell and Dragon. In my opinion it's certainly the best of the group.
I'm not sure how it fairs as a pub on its own because I've always been there for a meal, so please take that in to account.
Being so popular, there tends to always be a family or two in the restaurant which means it can get a little noisy. If you don't mind the bustle, I'd definitely recommend this place for a lovely Sunday Roast or weekend meal.
