Really can't believe that a pub is charging 18 pounds for a burger and a small dish of fries!!! No wonder pubs are going out of business........To be able to charge that amount the food has to be superb......it wasn't!! The bun was stale and seemed to have been warmed up in a microwave,and the burger was dry!! Or more to the point, overcooked! I'm afraid you have the plight of so many british pubs in a nutshell encompassed in the Golden Ball: diminishing returns from drinkers hence the reliance on extortionate food prices to keep the business afloat! Australian bar staff best thing about the establishment!!

Always a good pub to go to for a quick drink or bite to eat. Parking is easy and there are a few nice walks in the area. Good selection of beer on top from ales to lagers and IPAs.

Would probably give 4.5 if there were half ratings. My wife would give a 5, I am a 4. We have been quite a few times since the change of ownership and not had a bad meal..we recently went for a Sunday Roast. Thw potatoes were great and crispy and very good for a pub. Their was a carrot jue which was delicious. The Yorkshire pudding was a good size and crispy. They didn't provide quite enough gravy. But provided more when asked. The green veg was good. My wife beef was cooked medium rare which was great. However my lamb was well done and not quite how I liked it. I have has lamb before which was delicious. We had the sharing leg. The cocktails are great the lemon meragne cocktail is great. Oh and dog friendly so will be back. Although the smoking area is close to the bar and if the door is left open it can get cold and Smokey. Went in for a quick celebration and had the news Season lamb rinmp which was good and pink. The shallot puree with rosemary Ju that it came with was delicious, just wish there could have been more puree on the plate.

Very cosy and enjoyable atmosphere and the food is delicious and plenty Would go back without a doubt

It's ok for upmarket pub food but...... and this is a massive but..... be prepared to wait for it. The service is slow. Oh and there were far too many hipsters playing jenga in the pub garden. Probably reason enough to avoid. Edit - we came back and the service has got worse. Ordered from bar menu. Waited for 30 min's only to be told our order had been sent to the wrong table. In their defense our food was refunded. They promised to still send out our order....but they sent the wrong food to us. Very unhappy with this place. Don't with it now and won't be back.
