The best thing about this place is the outside seating area right next to the pond. The food is a notch better than average. Service was better than what a number of reviews suggested. Yes, we did find a few tables which were not cleaned but we also saw plenty of clean ones. Overall, a nice place.
I went with family for a dinner. I have booked and when arrived takes about 15 min just to come and direct us to the table. Order a beer and took ages to come. I think they are concentrating in serve a birthday party downstairs of restaurant.nnResume: Avoid dinner with your family at this place. And ask to remove the service fee. Maybe give direct to waitress if deserved.
Really gutted as this place has descended into trash. The only appeal left to venue is the lake view. My fiancé and I have been to this place numerous times, and it has gradually declined to the point we no longer want to visit. At the door we were told to find a table and could sit anywhere we want. However, all the free tables indoors had leftover food, crumbs, dirty used cutlery, used towels, empty bottles and glasses. So, we had to clear up one of the tables and moved the stuff off to one of the other tables that had trash. That was annoyingly disappointing and disgusting as that whole time none of the staff came around to clear up and clean the tables.nFurthermore, the menu had been changed with a new menu that looks very limited. Typical pub menu nothing exciting and versatile.nToday, we reluctantly went back as it was sunny and felt like having a drink by the lake view to make for a good weekend. We disappointingly saw that once again there was quite a few indoor tables with dirty cutlery, plates, bottles and empty glasses. Whoever manages this place needs to step up!!nWe headed to the lake view at the back side and again were fronted by the same sight. We had to chose a table to clean up and again were surrounded by free tables all with dirty plates leftover food, empty glasses and bottles, napkins flying into the lake at times as dirt never gets cleared. All the time we were sat there, all customers who came to the lake view side had to clear up a table themselves by moving the stuff to a nearby table. There was flies at times because of the dirty dishes left uncleared.nThis was once a nice special venue to bring visiting friends and family to but now it has turned into a trash pit. So gutting to see. It would be a solid venue with better management and staff being mindful about hygiene, tidiness, good food and drinks!! Unfortunately today we felt uncomfortable and had to leave sooner after one drink as we couldn't bare being sat next to that much filth.
Big disappointment!nFirst we were waiting 10 minutes next to the reception desk.nThen I asked them 4 times to clean the table, but I ended up cleaned it by myself after 30 minutes of waiting!nFood tasted bad!nFor 2 kids pizzas , 3 portions of chips, some squid rings, 2 juices and 1 beer £50 ‍ And only beer and thenjuice was nice
Had a lovely time here with a friend of mine. We ordered a few small plates and share like tapas, everything was super tasty. Had some desserts too, the apple crumble was huge, should state it's good for sharing although it really should come with more custard!nWe were sitting outside, view for the lake is lovely.
