We booked this place because we were staying at the Premier Inn. The Beefeater deserves a better rating than it has got so far. We arrived at 1800 on Saturday night. We were served at a perfect pace by our friendly and attentive waitress Vikki. I ordered the Porterhouse Steak which was perfectly cooked and my wife ordered the Piri Chicken also cooked to perfection. The kids enjoyed their steak n mash and sausage n mash from the children's menu. Dessert selection was wide and varied, we all enjoyed what we ordered. The bar was well stocked, decor lovely and warm. It was a very clean environment with plenty of atmosphere.

Dire... Dinner last night was "acceptable" , but breakfast this morning was poor. If its true you eat with your eyes then the the look of both the hot and cold breakfast fare was enough to make you need to wear sunglasses. The croissant, for example, looked as if they had been squashed to fit in the serving basket. There was a bit of a bun fight around the tables for toast, cereals, yogurt drinks etc with people dodging in and out of each other. I mention in passing the warm water to make tea with. Dinner tonight: well it took a little time for the starter to arrive, but I thought fair play; they're busy. But when I'd finished that another half an hour passed before the main course arrived. The chicken and chorizo pie was cold which matched the sad looking non-buttery potatoes served with them. When I sent the food back (no more available I was told) it then took forever to get the substitute smothered chicken melt. The said food again did not look inviting: loaded with crispy bacon seems to mean 1 skinny rasher with a slice of cheese dripping in BBQ sauce. But I have saved the best for last. Just as I approach the last few mouth-fulls of food I find a hair. Doesn't match my grey. So, I would say by all means stop next door at the Premier Inn. As expected the room was comfortable and well appointed. But if you want to eat try somewhere else. As for breakfast tomorrow; I believe there is a McDonald's down the road. Sadly I have to give it one star as the system won't allow me to give none. I will be in this area on business trips many times in the coming years, and this visit here will be my last.

Service is slower than a blind tortoise with a Zimmer frame, even the drinks tool the best part of 30 minutes to come out, - Ribs are a waste of time cold chewy and no expenses spared on the onion rings (includes a wopping 2!) - Might aswell keep the seabass in its parcel and post it back to Captain Birdseye not worth a carrot - Salmon looked nice but wouldn't describe it as a flavour explosion - steak was ok Only upside is that you can play basketball with the paprika chicken it's so rubbery, Overall 2/10 would not return

fantastic service from staff, especially one gentleman named Tomas, who made our visit extra special with his attentiveness. Will definitely return and recommend to my friends!

Food was fine but the service was incredibly slow considering over half the tables weren't in use.
