Velo Runner


Velo Runner is a friendly, independent bike & running shop run by our keen cycling and running team . Our professional workshop is just a 10 years old but is raising the bar for bike mechanics and servicing. We offer full gait analysis on our treadmill for runners as well as carrying trainers for road and the trail from the sports leading brands. We also stock some of cycling’s most revered brands not just the best marketed.
The Store has sociable seating, refreshments and Sky TV where we show all the latest races from the Spring Classics to the UCI Downhill World Cup and of course the Grande Tours. You can relax with coffee, watch your favourite races or read the latest Single Track or running magazine.

Tuesday Night Mountain Bike Ride
Every Tuesday the VELO Store staff, members and friends head out on an evening MTB ride on local trails. Everyone is welcome to join* so long as you have a mountain bike and helmet. The ride is usually between 12 to 14 miles and all abilities are welcome.

Thursday Night Chain Gang
20 miles if fast through and off chain gang, everyone welcome ( but you might/ will gert dropped.
led by British athletics run leaders, on local roads and trails all welcome, sociable pace

Saturday VELO Club Ride
Saturday 9am is our weekly VELO Club run taking in the lanes and roads of Staffordshire and Cheshire. Rides vary in length but are between 25 and 30 miles. Everyone is welcome to come and give us a try but you will need a road bike and a helmet, along with the ability to ride 30 miles at around 15 mph average speed.

Very poor service. I purchased a smart trainer from them that became faulty within 30 days of having it. Having sent a number of emails to them and having no reply, I phoned them up and arranged to send the unit back for an immediate replacement. Although they did send a pre-paid courier label, I decided to pay for next day delivery myself in order to speed the process up, after all, they had promised that as soon as they had received my item back they would get a new unit back out to me. Not heard anything since (a week ago). Have sent emails and also attempted to phone them but no reply. They may well be a very good local bike shop for people living in the area, but when it comes to online sales, they certainly leave a lot to be desired! I've ended up having to purchase a trainer from elsewhere due to not being able to make contact with these, which has cost me money. Update as of 21/12/2017 Received an email reply from them on 20/12/2017 apologising and stating that they had been closed on 19/12/2017 due to them having their Xmas party (I attempted to phone them on this date). It's quite spooky then that I have today received a replacement item with a post date of 19/12/2017! By this time they had already been made aware that because the unit had become faulty within 30 days I wanted a refund and had already purchased another smart trainer from elsewhere, rendering this one quite useless to me!

I've had a bike for myself and my daughter from Velo over time. Always found them to really know their stuff and talk good practical sense. Would certainly recommended paying them a visit.
