I had the soup of the day. It was delicious. On the side crispy chicken tenders, was also really good, but on my taste the dressing was bit too sweet. But not so sweet that I wouldn't order it again! Customer service is also very friendly and welcoming. I'm definitely coming again!
Varied menu, tasty food and a nice cosy relaxed atmosphere, and a handy location for festival venues. It was very busy and I think staff were stressed and they didn't have a couple items. Nice experience overall though.
It is a beautiful venue in a great location. Such places are why I love living on the Southside. The food was very good and there is a varied menu.. The service was friendly if a little slow at times. Overall, we had a good time at The Urban Fox.
The service was friendly. Unfortunately we were pretty disappointed with the dishes we ordered. The lamb shank was lukewarm, with potato purée on the side but nothing more. The seafood pasta was basically a small portion of pasta with mussels and 2 prawns swimming in soup. The dishes looked nice but tasted just ok. The portions were relatively small. We ended up having a second dinner in a restaurant nearby.
Pleasant, quick service. Table top was sticky. Food was pretty average. Skin on fries turned out to be matchstick thin frozen chips but the kids still enjoyed them. Soup was served with a small, thin slice of bread. A little pricey for what we got.Food: 4/5
Had a cuppa here proper leaf made and a hot chocolate early evening. The place is lovely. Nice interior comfy seats Friendly service Good level of music Outside seating available Bar Would dine here next time.
We had an excellent evening at the Urban Fox. Particular credit has to go to Caleb and Finn for their top notch service! We came in as a three for lunch and were really impressed by the quality of food and drinks on offer. That same evening we needed a last minute venue for a large group of students on an annual alumni gathering and we’re incredibly lucky in that our needs were met fully at very short notice by the team. Caleb and Finn handled people arriving at different times and in much greater numbers than anticipated with some having full meals and others just drinks with perfect grace despite being short staffed that evening kudos. The food was excellent with a great range of small and large dishes and a great veggie range. All in all we were massively impressed with the food but particularly the great service! We will definitely be back.
We love this place. Fantastic range of cocktails, properly made and delicious. Not overly sweet like so many places. So good in fact, we had a couple! We were there last night and had some amazing food; ordered 5 plates for £30, which is fantastic value as it’s easily enough for 2 people. Food was excellent. Would totally recommend everything we chose last night which was the mussels, monkfish, salmon, prawns and halloumi. Really tasty and flavourful. Menu changes so there is always something new to try. Staff are super friendly and helpful. This place totally deserves 5 stars. Best place in the Southside! Vegetarian options: There are a number of vegetarian options always on the menu although this does open up if you are pescatarian.
Food served was lovely and fresh with quite large portions in comfortable surroundings,but not much atmosphere as we were the only people there at one point, didn't stop our enjoyment of the afternoon Staff were very welcoming, friendly and efficientFood: 5/5
Best whiskey sour in Edinburgh; the food is great but varies in quality on occasion; the staff is friendly and helpful but on occasion need to pay more attention to people sitting outside.
