I am not a student but the university allows resident there to apply a library to borrow book but not using their system; I have nothing to complaint as it is a free service. the library is quite spacious and good for study. The floor plan is little bit unclear to me when i was trying to locate a book. maybe i could do that more effectively when i use the service more frequently. for the stock of books I have a feeling that they have yet kept more recent publications. Further i found they dont keep much of magazine and no newspaper it may be that they use electronic version. I anyway appreciate for their service
The library has different sections. Reading areas with more than 300 PCs are equipped with the fantastic Samsung curve monitors. Also, there are hobs that you can connect your own laptop or uni laptops to the large monitors and enjoy studying and working. Moreover, there are classes inside the library and additionally some group studying rooms which you have to book them in advance. If you prefer to study quietly you should find specific areas otherwise you will lose your temper by the noises. The quiet places have signage, and you can get more information from the information desk. You can enjoy expensive coffee, although there is a coffee machine behind the coffee store and you can find £0.5 hot water and enjoy your own coffee.
It's a nice place to study. Also, it's open 24/7. Don't forget to check the benefits, I have attached the photo.
The library itself is good, nice setting and plenty of computers. However this year I have found a number of issues, including being shut for various reasons. I normally attend from 8am onwards and on a few occasions the cleaners have been loudly arguing with each other which is disrespectful to students studying around them.
Very good facilities, great computers and monitors. Very nice staff. All the things you could need, from books, to laptops, to a good chat with the staff. We love the library and the library loves us. What would we do without it? Probably be even more stressed than we already are. Being a student is hard but this library makes the student lifestyle enjoyable. I love it here. The sofas need a clean though
I dropped my purse here and the staff were super helpful in getting it back.
Confortable place to work and study, very wide selection of books and computers to use. Update: due to the covid pandemic, you're required to book a timeslot of up to 2 hours only to enter the library, which is inconvenient written on 26th May 2021.
A good place to be. If you are just chilling out you can go to the library just roam around, take a tour. If you want to discuss some things just book a private room and if you want to be left alone, just want to get immersed into your books I suggest the top floors would do the trick.
Good library, but one photocopier downstairs in the foyer is not enough. Hot meals at 5.40 is a bit expensive for students. The microwave only heats the top of the meal and the noodles were stuck together and cold. Need a proper mechanism to heat meals!
The staff are good, the resources etc ditto but the majority of students are loud. At least for a library. Phone conversations are held, vaping even or whatever. At least in the half dozen visits I've done. I'm old enough to know libraries are meant to have a certain sound. If you're a mature student go elsewhere for a quiet place to work
