Old traditional English pub. Amazing atmosphere. Fantastic kitchen and very helpful staff. One of the best pubs we have visited. Strongly recommended. Very easy to get therr with the 25 bus from Reading centre.
Looks like we’ve found a new local ish pub for Sunday roasts. We’ll cooked, great selection of veg and decent portion size. Typical country pub with friendly, efficient staff. If you ask nicely you’ll also get double custard portions for the crumble.

Stopped for lunch from our walk in the Chilterns to find a picturesque country pub. Spacious rooms set around a generous bar set out for dining. Only one cask ale on offer, but it was well conditioned and served by friendly staff. Lunch menu had a limited choice but meal was well cooked and delicious. Plenty for a lunchtime meal. Quick efficient service. Dropped a star because our conversation was regularly interrupted by a loud banging of the kitchen door. Come on that can't be that hard to fix! Worth another visit.
What a find! Great food, very generous portions and vegetarian options available Both indoors and outdoors areas are cosy and welcoming. Nice, relaxed, laid back ambience. Quiet and green surroundings, ideal to go for a walk, or bike ride and end it at the pub. Do not miss this place.
came here with my family as a celebration of school finishing, the food was amazing! so so delicious and it didn't take too long either i know seating is all outdoors bc of covid but under the markee, it got quite loud and a bit claustrophobic but i totally understand why and it follows the guidelines, just seemed a bit tight on space. however, overall it was a perfect evening

Lovely place, friendly staff! We just had a drink in the garden but I plan to come back to test the food. Seems to be tasty!
The Unicorn was the venue for our daughters 1st birthday celebrations and we were absolutely delighted with the arrangments made by Allison and her team. Right from the 1st email exhange , Allison was very easy to communicate with and helped us finalize the menu and other arrangements. We opted for the BBQ spread out of all the varied menu choices Allison provided and our guests were very happy with the food and service provided. Highly recommend this place for anyone looking for a venue for a celebration of some kind. We oursleves will be frequenting this pub now as the food and service is something we were happy with.
