Beautiful hotel to stay in, handy for town centre, we walked in on the Sunday afternoon, along the esplanade and back, it was a lovely walk. Rooms were lovely, clean, spacious, comfortable and affordable. The hotel is beautiful, and has a lot of function spaces. The focal point for me was the staircase at the centre of the hotel!
My 3 stars is because I had my engagement party in here April 2025, staff were lovely but the food was a let down. We had some vegans and veggies including myself and not one of them got a hot filled roll. I don't think the hot filled rolls are a great choice to begin with so none of us are the whole night. We only got an apology and nothing else ..We stayed overnight and the rooms were beautiful and clean.
Stayed at the hotel while I was doing a course for work, friendly staff, my room was ok as well, could maybe do with wee facelift but comfortable enough for me. I had dinner in the restaurant and every meal I had was lovely
I recently attended a wake there. Although under sad circumstances the staff were fantastic. They were attentive and prompt with the delivery of food that was on offer.nThe food was like a buffet style, scones, sausage rolls etcnThey had put a selection of alcohol and soft drinks available but you could also order what you wanted at the bar at the usual prices, I thought quite reasonable as also a hotel.nThe family I was with did order some snacks from the bar which they said they enjoyed and was very well pelresented I must add.nMy only gripe and indeed a small one was they asked, politely that the funeral guest's leave the hotel by 6:30pm.nAll in all a lovely hotel. That captures its beautiful period features with modern style menu and facilities.nI will definitely return at some point.
Lovely room.Good food . Cost for alcohol ,pint etc is more expensive than the local pubs
