Floor is sticky Tables are sticky Menus are sticky. I am amazed, especially since covid that tables etc are not properly cleaned regularly. Don't even get me started on the toilets Just because drinks are much cheaper in a wetherspoon pub doesn't mean people should have to put up with dirty surroundings.
Hadn't been in this pub for many years. Typical wetherspoons. Cheap beer and value for money food. It felt exactly the same as ever. Faces change, but people don't
I been visit this pub for many years. everything is typical wetherspoons. they sell cheap beer and value for money great food. It felt exactly the same as ever. this place realy clean, they staff friendly and polite
Couple of drinks with the girls! We used the app and the service was quick
I really like the staff here, very friendly indeed. Beer is good and food is decent but my only complaint would be the toilets always stink of dried pee, I’ve been to this pub 3 times in the last 2 weeks and on each time I was completely grossed out by the loos..
Good food, big portions for a great price
Been here many times. Good pub. Staff are great. Food is usually good or up to a certain standard. Plenty of seating but can be busy during peak times.
Lovely food nice staff cheap prices
Not sure if it's me but every Wetherspoon pub I get food from seems to struggle in some way or another. First it took absolutely ages to turn up, it did arrive hot which I was surprised about considering the time it took, eggs way overcooked, mushroom on the big breakfast, well I have attached a picture of it rolling around on a hash brown, just one sad pathetic suicidal looking mushroom. If it wasn't for the £1.2o unlimited refill coffee I would be unhappy
As far as spoon pubs go this is the best one I have been in. Come here a few times in the last week and I have not had to get out my spoon sanitising wipes to clean the tables. Most spoon pubs I have to wipe the tables from the sticky mess that is left even after staff have cleared the table of glasses and plates. Today a member of staff saw that I had just sat down and came over to wipe my table, if only other spoons did this. Excellent staff and very accommodating, not like some where asking them a thing like "please clean my table" is taken as an insult and greeted with disdain. The manager nod this pub should be congratulated and looked upon as a mentor for other less capable managers who see it as their duty to befriend their staff and not give any consideration to the paying punters. I have heard this pub is closing so I hope they retain the staff as they know how to operate a pub. Thanks to all the staff at The Toll Gate.
