The Terrace Buffet

It's great to see this place open again and food was great. We went mid week and it was really quiet in there but the food was fully stocked and all really fresh and hot. There's a great selection and something to please everyone. However, they have seemed to have refurbished inside but somehow missed the toilets. They were the same as they had always been, locks missing off cubicles, no toilet paper and the hand dryer only blows cold. And to top it off, it was freezing in there! The rest of the building was really warm but it was like walking outside when you went to the toilets!

Poor food and ambience but EXPENSIVE! The owners have done a very cheap refurb on the place and it shows. Nasty cheap blue lighting and a sound system from the pound shop greet you. Then it gets worse when you try the food. The grilled chicken starter was actually nice but apart from that the food was awful, I don't think one of the 'chefs' was actually a professional, just family members. I couldn't eat any of the mains, they tasted like supermarket curries with very cheap ingredients. There are some wonderful restaurants within a mile or two, please go there instead!

Just been to the Chase terrace world buffet. With my husband. Was very disappointed. I don't think we will be going again. Not great value for money, food was average. Not much of it and it was mainly left overs as we got there for 6.45 pm so it was dried up and had been standing in the serving dishes for a while. I felt they wanted us to leave. I think mopping the floor with out asking us gave it away. It was only when I moaned to my husband that someone came over to ask if we minded. I've had better food in a service station and it was cheaper.

Really nice place to eat. Took the kids yesterday, and there was plenty for them to choose from. The staff are great particularly the girl with the black hair and pony tails, she was extremely helpful and friendly! The building is lovely inside. Will go again.

I went mid week, great place, there is a reasonable choice of food and choice of a starter and then dessert. The staff were friendly and polite, it is spacious and so its not crammed like some other places. The 3 plates of food I ate was great : and the other people with me enjoyed it too.

Tonight was my first visit and will most certainly be the last the food terrible. Most of which was tasteless, the Spicer foods again had no taste, just heat. The food that was cooked in the wok for us tonight was burnt and the bottomless drinks were just fizz. The deserts was terrible custard still had Powder bits again tasteless Extremely overpriced. I can't see this place staying open. If they do it will be miracle

I used to go to the Terrace when it was 1 of the best English restaurants in the local area so decided to go look at what's now on offer. Went Thursday night without a booking which wasn't necessary as during our time there eating there where only a total of 14 people including us in the place. The main dining area is a huge space which unfourtunatly meant there was no atmosphere. The quality of the food was ok but a lot of the choices there web site says are on the menu where not available. Service was very good but unfourtunatly service standards dropped the longer we were there empty plates not removed so eat our last 2 visits to the buffet with dirty plates on our table. This was due to the sole waitress either chatting with the boss man or snuggled up to the space heater which they were trying to heat the room with! The price of the buffet is about the same as other better establishments in our area but the drinks are a total too off £4.50 for a bottle of cider that aldi sell at .99p and £3.50 for a bottle of holsten which I buy 6 for £7.00 from my corner shop, I'm sure you must agree a lot of money to take the top off and bring it with an empty glass to pour yourself? Will I go again .... probably not no comparison to most of the other buffets that are available locally .

Had my 30th meal here last night we booked for 40 people.. non of the tables was put together all my guest was all away from me and it felt like we was not together as a party at all... Food was hit a miss some was so nice. But some not the greatest. Like bbq ribs sauce was lovely hardly any meat on it tho. But will say the chicken tikka meats was lovely. I think i will come back but never as a party of guest's i just dont rate it that how the tables was never put together??

Had a lovely Indian meal last night it's changed hands and is now known as Chase bar and grill. Lovely food and drink with a welcoming atmosphere. Won't be our last visit I'm sure.

The entrance is scruffy. Stairs to restaurant restricts wheelchair use. The interior of the restaurant resembles a military barracks canteen. The food area is clean, but the lids of the food dispensing containers require a member of staff to prevent the lids falling onto the customer's wrist. The food, with the exception of the on demand noodle dishes, is extremely salty and the appearance and texture suggest that frozen rather than fresh food is served. The floor in the male lavatory has a squeaky surface when walking on, suggesting that cleanliness is not as it should be. The door to the male lavatory is damaged and not easily used by children. Storage rooks are open to view and dirty. Although licensed the range of alcoholic drinks available is restricted to expensive bottled/canned beer and larger of dubious origin. In this case you really do get what you pay for. Cheap and nasty, yet with a little imagination and a relatively moderate investment the Terrace Buffet could become a welcoming though not wheelchair friendly venue.
