Nice place. Drinks are a bit pricey. Can book out rooms for events. The food is lovely but little portions for the price. Gluten free options available. That is a gluten free afternoon tea in the picture
I love the pub itself and the surroundings. Staff were friendly but the food was not great sadly. I went on a Monday evening for my birthday. It was basically frozen French fries and limp burger for myself. The other meals were not great but edible. The service was better than that of the church view up the road who had no food at all. I hope this pub ups its game as its a lovely pub.
Great afternoon at the monthly Golden Oldies event at the Tavern today. Lovely food, service from friendly staff was very good considering how busy it was. Great two course deal and we managed a naughty pud as well. All this and an entertaining singer and bingo. What a lovely way to spend an afternoon with friends.
Can't go wrong with the Tavern. Food is excellent every time, staff are friendly and attentive and the cocktails are delicious.
Food was beautiful, good fast service and nice cocktails
I come here all the time with my fiance and have never had a problem but today there where some serious staff issues we where severed by to young girls and if I'm honest they didn't have a smile between them they never made us feel welcome and worst of all I was sat in the last booth near the phone and heard myself being slagged off for ordering a bottle of moet that my fiance ordered for my birthday! The food was lovely as always but service matters more when your spending over £100 everytime we go
Went for lunch today, we ordered from the eat out to help out menu, which is a limited version of the main lunch menu for about £2 less. The food was lovely, but the portions were small. Probably not worth the money. But the main problem was it was really cold in there. We did mention it 3 times but we're told that the heating had been on since 10am. And that was that. So a little bit disappointed.
Staff were very good; service good but let down by the food. Went for afternoon tea; was entitled to one hot drink only. Tea was in a small teapot which gives just over one cup of tea, teabag was quite strong so could have asked for more water and had 2 cups out of it. The cakes and sandwiches looked lovely on the cake stand, with the bits of fruit on it. Unfortunately, the scones, although warm and looked home made and welcoming, was doughy in the middle so was a bit of a let down. There was no butter with it, just the cream and jam. The sandwiches were only filled in the middle so the sides near the crusts were empty. Got a Groupon deal but will not pay full price.
Friendly service. Important due to this being a funeral event. Good food. Courteous staff Booked for lunch two weeks later.
Had a lovely evening celebrating a belated birthday. Food was lovely, friendly staff, highly recommended.
