We build and sell the finest tandems in the world right here in the World Heritage Site of the Ironbridge Gorge, Shropshire.

The Tandem Shop was started by Peter Bird, who has a long history in the bicycle industry, designing frames and building some of the most enduring British custom built tandems.

Peter is the chief designer of Landescape tandems and is also the technical director of The Tandem Shop. Together with Rob Wade, they have a reassuringly 60 plus years experience in the cycle industry and have been designing and selling tandems for 30 years.

I called first and spoke to a lady who arranged for the owner to call me back. He called promptly and I arranged to visit the showroom. On site I had a long discussion with Peter (owner) who became aware very quickly that he couldn't help me on that day due to my requirements. Despite this he took his time to give me fabulous advice on what to do and not to do when buying a tandem and talked at length with passion and incredible knowledge that was so very impressive. Peter knows his stuff and his bespoke approach to bikes in general was a pleasure to hear for someone who grew up with steel. Equally impressive was the environment - the location of Peter's showroom was really classy and enhanced completely the all round sense of service which I received that made my visit thoroughly worthwhile. I would recommend in the strongest possible terms a visit to Peter if you are a a genuine enthusiast of bikes. His knowledge and passion are infectious and further, his objectivity is a lesson in customer service. He had no hesitation in recommending what I needed to do to achieve my buying requirements which meant no business for him, but business for a competitor, at the end of a long conversation with me. Exceptional service and integrity Mr Bird. Thank you.
