I have been with this surgery for over 35 years. Unfortunately, I have seen this specific surgery become one of the worst surgeries in Maidenhead. All the doctors at the surgery are very good. However, it's impossible to get to see one of them. The telephone system they have for appointment is a complete joke. You're kept on the phone for over an hour sometimes only to be told that all the appointments have already gone. At this point you're told to contact them back later on in the afternoon of course with the same result, no appointments available. The receptionists are very cold and have absolutely no empathy.
I can only speak about my own experience visiting this GP surgery…I have recently had two telephone consults with Dr Cheng, he was absolutely brilliant. One of the times he asked me to come in for a face to face because he wanted to double check something. I found him thorough and attentive. I have also had a routine appointment with the nurse who I have always found to be an absolute treasure
I normally have good service from our gp practice. Today, I have waited 2 and 3/4 hours yes 2 hours 45 minutes! to get through on the appointments line with the line slowly going down. This really isn't acceptable when you are ill.
My own personal experience today Reception team were lovely considering the phone didn’t stop and Wendy the nurse was so sweet and helpful. Also a doctor called me back within the hour for my son This team are doing their best considering the resources.
I don’t understand why they have turned off their e consult option AND their online booking system. It is now basically impossible to get an appointment. Unless you want to wait for 2 hours in a call queue just to be told they have no appointments left and to call back tomorrow. The e consult made the process of getting an appointment so much easier but they’ve had it closed for months and I’m not sure why. They have no email address and no way to contact them. I’m in need of an appointment and it’s been made impossible. It’s a shame because the doctors at this surgery are wonderful but the appointment system is a joke so I will be attempting to switch to a different gp.
I wish I could give this service 0 stars. Absolutely terrible service. Appauling. I have lived in Maidenhead over 18 months and NEVER been seen face to face for my 2 year old. I have only managed to get 2 appts in this time and had to call 111 on the other occasions because I have been unable to get an emergency appt. You call at 8:30 on the dot and are 20th in the queue. You get asked to call back at 2:30, for the exact same thing to happen. The doctors themselves are lovely and very good when we’ve spoken to them on the phone but the receptionists are cold.
This place suffers from its popularity. The area covered is quite large and highly populated. It is a shame to see all these one-star haters though; the quality of medical care available is impressive and, whilst there is contention for appointments, full service health care that is completely free at point of use is an amazing and enviable proposition. Be patient patients!
Non medicly trained receptionists who stone wall you and tell you don't need to see a Dr face to face. Who exactly are they to make a Medical assessment One of the worst surgeries for seeing patients face to face. Avoid and find a surgery who do thier job properly
This doctor surgery needs to be reported to our local council. You can never get through to them phone is always busy and it’s almost impossible to see a doctor. SHOCKING !! I’ll be requesting to move to a different doctors surgery who actually care about patience well being shame on you Symons you were once an excellent surgery who always answered the phone now it’s almost impossible to talk. Please review your practice and think about the service you are providing put yourself in a patient position and see how your surgery is behaving won’t take much to realise how bad your practise is operating.
Phoned up about my hearing loss and unfortunately they said it could be ear wax what for all my life I have had earwax stuck in my ear when I have had number of ops on my ear and treatments for it thanks
