The sweat shop is amazing... An institution... But they are gone from this location!! Go to Up and Running just up the road.
I visited Sports Direct previously Sweatshop in order to buy some running shoes. I had a superb experience. If you go I highly recommend you ask for Kevin. He not only knows about shoes but is also a running coach. He spent over an hour with me trying various trainers and using the treadmill to assess my gait and running style. He gave me lots of tips to improve my running as well as sold me a great pair of Adidas. Fantastic service and great prices.
Great experience. Recently had some injuries and pain whilst running so thought I may need new shoes. It was busy but I was greeted quickly and the guy checked my feet and then had me run on their treadmill with some suggested new shoes. Even after I had a lot of improvement with the first pair he brought several over to check, running with each pair, to find the best pair for me. Would definitely recommend to a friend.
Bought a pair of running trainers here, the member of staff I was being served by helping me choose the right pair of trainers, she was very knowledgeable but lacked the most basic people skills. When she asked me how much I ran I told her it was 5k every weekend with sprint intervals and hill training in the week and she responded "oh, not very much then" in a very patronising manner. She was very knowledgeable about the trainers but almost had a snobby attitude towards me being a casual runner. Apart from that the other members of staff were polite and I came out with a good pair of trainers.
Fantastic service from helpful knowledgeable advisor who is studying sport rehabilitation. Unhurried and determined to find the best shoe for my daughter. Price matched anything i could find on the Internet for the same shoe. Free gait analysis helped my daughter find the best trainer to correct her pronation. Would highly recommended.
Superb help from Adam who helped my sister quickly choose a pair of Asics which she said she had not felt a shoe as comfortable in many years. Adam listened to her needs and situation and then responded accordingly. Excellent service.
It was brilliant. What made it brilliant is the customer service. The gentleman who served us around 3.30pm on Sunday 18th October was brilliant. He went above and beyond giving suggestions, being extremely helpful which made it a pleasure to purchase what we required. Due to his service we walked in wanting to buy just one pair of trainers and left spending around £190! He was the tall and just wish we had his name!! Thank you for the brilliant customer service during.
Amazing service. Pressure sensor first to see if you have collapsed arches. Then they mold insoles to your feet. Then the staff member records a short video of you running and finds a selection of suitable trainers for you to try on. This process is all free. The best part is you can go for a run in the trainers you purchase, and if they're not for you you can exchange them in the next 30 days - having used them!
Was well looked after by the manager and young assistant this morning when buying a new pair of unning shoes after an analysis of my running style. Offered various options to try on and settled on a pair of Brookes Ghost at a great price.
Top drawer service from the chap with the ponytail. I am a novice runner requiring certain features from the footwear to accommodate a neurological condition. Ended up with a pair of brooks which fit well and instill confidence when running. Thanks for the advice
